Dry but chuffin cold, with black ice around at present, but you never know, a dry sunny day at Micklefield & Cas has happened in the winter a few times before :D

I do like Ramp 1 And would like to go again. I might have missed the chance for tonight, but that might be a possibility in the coming weeks if we can plan ahead? I'll be back on this evening to update about tomorrow morning.

It's looking likely that I'll be heading to The Works for about 10 tomorrow. Though if it's dry I might go to Miccy.

My Mrs is going to Rockcity on Sunday to meet some quad skating ladies, so looks like that's where I'll be. If you guys can make that the choice it would be great, the last session there was a lot of fun.

I caught that from you after the J4 session ;-) Just getting over it but still a bit chesty. I've also got a baby naming thing to attend on Sunday so won't be playing out unfortunately.

I don't think I'll be able to do an early session tomorrow. Gigging away and probably won't get home until 3 or 4 in the morening, I might try to go to The Works in the afternoon to get a bit of a workout.

Not sure if I can get out to skate tomorrow morning, but I went to The Works this morning for an unplanned session with Kitty. While there I was told the pool is being ripped out and will be gone within the next month or so! There will be a farewell jam in a fortnight and that could be the end of it. So if anyone wants a final session there you haven't got long. I'm personally gutted by this as I'd just about got the hang of keeping my speed and reaching the coping.

They are remodelling the whole end where the pool is over to the mini ramp, but don't seem quite sure what is going to be put there yet. One of the skater lads who works there said he's trying to have as much input in it as possible and is trying to get something that will be good for skaters, but who knows what might get in there?

Speaking to Craig who works there as the maintenance guy, they don't really don't seem to know what they are are doing still, Elliot the guy in charge has told us various things over a long period, which have never happened, the last being a new pool & a long halfpipe, but it seems that isn't happening now, surprise , surprise!

The last refurb of the old pipe/bowl room turned it into a primarily Bike orientated area (this was purposeful apparently as this was the way they looked at it in the past, even though the pipe's in there were quite nice for boarders before being destroyed along with the bowl), from what I can make out it was the builders idea's on the day that were mainly used.

The murmurings coming out are more street stuff to replace the pool, like they really need any more in there!

This doesn't bode well for what is a tired 2nd rate mediocre skatepark at present , still with a strange membership thing going on & quite pricey for the odd non member session which is why many go elsewhere now :?

But here's hoping they do something surprising & create something worth travelling for! :?:

Euxton was really nice, Preston was okay, but the cooing on the big bowl was really off putting, didn't go near it.

Only been to that Preston park once but absolutely loved that big bowl. Yep, very hard to ride and proper coping seems to put a lot of people off. I like the challenge, just getting a good line round it and touching the coping in the deep is an achievement.

I'm off to Hamburg tomorrow, not back until a week on Sunday. To add to the pressure I've also pulled the trigger on buying a new house with an expected completion date in early august so I foresee the next several weekends taken up with clearing out 20 years of detritus and packing endless other crap that we're taking with us. It might be a challenge to fit some skating in but we'll see.

Unfortunately I've got a wardrobe delivery expected at some indeterminate time, so as much as I'd love a Miccy session (not been in ages) I can't make it. Such are the woes of domesticity.
