Desert Island Skatepark

So if you could only ride one park or bowl that you had visited for the rest of your days which one would it be, and what board setup would you ride??

Re: Desert Island Skatepark

Probably Goodyear in Arizona to give maximum flexibility and longevity.
I'd probably ride something very like what I have now. 8.25-8.5 deck, Ace 44s, Cortechs.

From the OMA bbq back in '07:

The pool bowl is a LOT bigger than it looks!

Jonno and I had a very similar look going on that year hehe. Matching stance, shorts, helmet, elbow pads, t-shirt.

Smooth, smooth flat freestyle area, surrounded by flat banks at varying angles and heights with a mixture of grindable and rolled out lips
:D :D :D :D :D :D

And if we are on a desert island plenty of shade, so I can skate all day

Re: Desert Island Skatepark

i'd have to choose southport skatepark, it was demolished in the early eighties i think. in my head it was an amazing place that I used to wait weeks to get the chance to go.

I used to ride a crappy polypropelene board, but an older friend gave me a hobie 'radical terrain' bowl rider with acs 651's and green kryps. I'd choose that board as I only got to ride it once at southport.

Anyone have any pics of southport park? I'll probably change my mind if I see it again though!

Re: Desert Island Skatepark

Lake Cunningham Skatepark - San Jose - Disney land for skateboarders, it has everything that you could ever want to ride. Street (lots of it), bowls with and without pool coping, a full pipe, small bowls, big bowls, a cradle, a thimble, over vert pocket, a massive wall ride (the monolith), back yard pool.

Just an amazing place to skate.

Desert Island Skatepark

If it's parks that I've skated it would have to be the ex Plymouth zoo park, have great memories of summer evenings and the full pipe...

If it's parks that i'd like to visit the Black Pearl on Cayman. Looks pretty good to spend my days, and it is on an island.
As for boards I do like my Flip Moutain Ace 55s with a good supply of either Cortechs or RS Stingers...
Oh, and a bucket of factor 50000000 sun block

Re: Desert Island Skatepark

Well Tony B's one sounds good but if I had to choose one that I have actually ridden then it's Crawley.
Not very exciting am I?!!!

Board wise, my Ripper.
Is this where I am supposed to write something witty?

Thanks Andy  It made my day seeing these pics and took me back a few years. I wouldnt change my mind although I wouldnt say no to a few minis instead of the wooden verts which if i remember were quite narrow. The pic of the park underwater brought back how it always flooded with seawater in winter and that was how I last saw the park.
