I went along and saw the plans, at this point I tried to get involved. It was then that I discovered that the plans had already been passed, a start date was planned and a contractor had already been hired. The viewing of the plans was just an exercise the council has to do. They weren't interested in anything I had to say and didn't really want me enquiring into "Their business", and definitely didn't want me involved.
Subsequently the park was atrocious. Useless metal objects on rough tarmac. The council sees it as a success as it's always used by pikey little kids on bikes and scooters.
Don't be downhearted though, councils and their protocols change. They might need guidance this time.
We understand they are continuing to work with their preferred contractor, Freestyle Skateparks, to resolve some outstanding issues relating to the design of the park

Will be interesting to see how they do the transitions off the roll in.

This was what nearly happened to Stoke Newington.Thankfully, after getting some friends involved,we kicked up such a shit storm that the contract had to go out to tender. We also managed to get the 5 top concrete SKATEPARK builders bidding for it,too. From then on,we were involved at each step of the build.
