Rush Skatepark Stroud

Postby Cookie » Mon Jun 10, 2013 8:19 pm

This could be epic for the Bristol area. Cant say too much at the moment but I know someone who has seen the plans and he says it is amazing... The building itself is massive
Have a look at the facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/rush.skatepark?ref=ts&fref=ts
Winters may never be the same again. Fingers crossed this works out.... and my knee heals up of course.

Is it still going ahead? Says it should have been open by the start of the year

Will have to pay a visit next winter, do they have skate only sessions, or over 18's or anything like that?

Off peak is good value!

Will definitely have to give it a bash sometime. Perhaps car share to save bridge fee/petrol?

Can't do Friday though

Looks good. But if they're not playing 'Spirit Of Radio' on constant loop they're going to have to change the name.

You can tell it's been designed for the BMX'er... The bowl was ok, not skated one with a funny angle bank type thing that was tricky for me as i'm just learning.

I'm not good enough yet for the street section and all the flip tricks, but had a roll around there. The pump track was ok for a certain length. Not much for us learners, but will be good for the Pro or experienced guys.

It needs a mini ramp.... or an area for the not so experienced.

bowl was ok apart from the wet patches but lacking in anything smaller to practice on. Plenty of room for a long miniramp ,what a waste of a huge park :(

I do find that the wooden parks I have visited do tend to be made for Bikers, such as spine ramp/halfpipes that only lip out at about 75/80 degrees, good for bikes to go over but not so good for boards that come back in on transitions, or a nice 1/4 with no opposing side so unless you have pedal power no way to use it properly, along with wall rides & suchlike, they call them skateparks but boards seem to be the last thing they have in mind when building them, maybe they should be a little more honest with the name, Bikescoot park!
