Looks like this will be built at Memorial Park, Marple this year. Can't say I'm too excited.

If only they'd take the opportunity to make the feature at the very back into a decent mini it might be ok. Otherwise I think it's crap!

It will be interesting to see how Canvas develops as a company. Most of the designs I've seen of theirs so far have raised an eyebrow a bit it's fair to say. This is no different.

It's a lot of park for £100k assuming the finished product has any sort of resemblance in terms of scale & proportion to the drawing. Or it might actually just be tiny....

In any case, I will always question public skateparks that have collision lines inherently designed into them and don't make enough of an effort (broadly speaking) to separate the fast and slow lines.

No bowl. And no obvious flow line...
Is it a scooter-bike park maybe?

Someone who's not very good at CAD has visited a skatepark once and knocked that up. It'll also cost way more than £100k

Looks like they did consult the skatepark users and gave everyone local a chance to have their choice.

It obviously isn't going to interest transition skaters and it's not exactly what I would call inspiring. Cross flow at one end will interfere with travel along the length of the park, so there is a crash zone. Bit of a waste of 100k, and I'm not certain they have all the finding yet either. Design has the time to be tweaked.

Im sorry but this comment is utter bollocks

I know the guy that designed this, he is very very very good at CAD (and Rhino etc), and has designed and built (doing all the construction drawings in CAD funnily enough) more skateparks than you've probably ever ridden. In fact Id be willing to be he's designed a number of skateparks you have ridden and probably liked.

Just because a design doesn't appeal to you, does that give you the right to shit talk?
You have absolutely no idea what limitations the guy was given in the tender brief.
No bowl - maybe they don't want a bowl?
Collision lines - show me a skatepark where there aren't any.
Like it or lump it £100k doesn't get you very much concrete ROPSA and EN standard approved skatepark these days.

That looks like a lot of concrete for £100k. Doesn't look like it has much flow though? Is it a flow park? Is it a plaza? Seems like its trying to be a bit of everything which can often be a mistake. Still, better than a kick in the nuts.

I agree,that is a lot for 100K.
I would probably skate it if I was in the area but it is not one I would travel to.
I spend most of my money on beer, bikes and boards..............the rest I just waste.
