Wow, who'd have thought it was a profit deal? Looks like you built it 'proper' though. 8)

I would go crete without hesitation, drainage issues permitting of course. ~..

Yup, I sent this woman some photo's cause she wanted me to quote her for a build and when she saw mine, she said, just sell me yours instead.

drainage shouldn't be an issue, my property is sloped and will work just fine. I think the next one will be 3ft higher of if I go 4, it'll have 8 foot trannies instead of 7ft-ers.

Re: My 4ft / 3ft x 15ft mini

Just noticed that I never updated this. Well after having this woman pitch up to view the ramp, straight away she lowballs me and offers me half of what i want. I said nope....sorry, she then asks if her kids can at least have a bit of a skate on it...............I say nope......so the ramp is staying.

Hooked up with some older skaters this weekend and I'm having my first skate bash this weekend. Will post loads of pics next week in the photos section.

After all the effort you put in to building the ramp, I'm pleased to see that you kept it. Good for you.

Re: My 4ft / 3ft x 15ft mini

FUCK ME.............what an awesome sesh........More pics to follow. Lingo, who probably has the coolest style that I've seen in a while took all the pics. He shoots for a local skate rag and he reckons that the ramp as well as the whole oldy scene that is happening may just be enough to get a feature.

I just posted a few (the arty ones) as I'm waiting for the rest to be sent.

The group, from left to right. Me 36, Angelo 37, (used to skate with this guy 20 years ago), Micheal 34 and Chris 36. Lingo who was taking the shots is 36. Nice age group.

Best trick of the day had to be lingo doing a BS Indy nose pick on the 4ft section. He was killing the ramp, FS rocks, disaster reverts and was almost nailing Pivot fakies..........I'll have to sink the coping in some more, it's a bit knarly at the moment.

What I loved the most was that I almost nailed a 50-50. I was actually coming back in the ramp and just jumped off........fuck. I'll have it done pronto..........overall it was a killer sesssion and it was Über cool to have some oldies session MY RAMP!!!!!

Hoping to have another group run this Friday..............will update sme pics soon though.

Re: My 4ft / 3ft x 15ft mini

End of an era..........

It's coming down next month..........the plans for the jam room are sorted and it's been decided to recycle most of the wood and steel for various projects around the house.........speaker boxes, guitar cases, cupboards and shelving.

I'm going to keep a 3m section as a quarter pipe for my driveway for those boring nights. It won't be the same, but it'll at least be something.

It was good while it lasted.......Will post a few pics of the teardown.

Just revisited the start of this thread and stumbled across this gem from Dave the Bass...

OK. I could probably squeeze out the 'I' today but it'd take until at least the weekend to do the 'love my wife' bit.

How soon do you need it doing?

EDIT. Maybe different MAS'ers can 'poo' out the other words?

Great story / great thread, but yeah that bit just made me weep with laughter. It's sad that the ramp is going but a jam room sounds good.

Re: My 4ft / 3ft x 15ft mini

so in closing...................here she is. The only place where I had any sort of rot coming to the party was on one flat section where the draining sucked ass. Besides that...............she held up great and I have 8 large tins of screws to re-use.

Image

Just two of the projects that are using the wood.

Image

Image

I will be using 3 sections of the 3ft trannies for a quarter pipe at the end of the garage, but after over 3 years of use, I'm going to manage to be able to re-use about 95% of the wood and all the steel.

Thread done.............
