Getting back on the board

Postby Billy » Wed Jul 29, 2015 9:25 am

After taking a break for over 10 years I finally got myself back on a skateboard. I'm going on 30 and stopped skating at 15 so it has been a while. Back in the day I mostly skated street. I never was a great skater but could at least do some flips, grinds and jump a few steps.

Now I got myself a new setup and started off at the local basketball court. Few sessions later, I found myself heading to various skateparks around London.

Proud to say I am getting back into the swing of things and am landing all of the following (although mostly at slow speed)
- Ollie and switch Ollie
- Nollie and Fakie
- kickflip
- shove it and the odd pop shove it
- nose slides
- rock to Fakie on a small quarter

Thanks for the welcome!

I have to admit, the kickflip is what I still struggle the most with but I'm getting there and landing around 50% of those. I am currently trying to get over the fear of dropping in and need to practice riding switch - something I also neglected back in the day. Somehow I can switch ollie and nollie but at the same time can't even push with the other foot and occasionally loose balance after going up a ramp.
