I'd like to believe that it says something like "landed an awesome 720" or similar but I suspect it's something more pedestrian like "landed awkwardly" ;-)

I believe it says 'landed a trick and slipped'. I agree 'attempted an awesome 720' or something similar would have been far more impressive to have on my records. 8)

It's possible that the person who entered that data is familiar with some skateboard terminology to say "landed a trick", however technically it was not landed if you slipped. Maybe you could get it amended to "failed rock and roll attempt on <insert height> transition - patient is an expert skateboarder who has been attempting this trick for some months"

Stay motivated with the prospect of getting back on your skateboard and keep us updated with your progress ..-

My scar seems to be healing well, hoping the hospital will give me the all clear next week. Then just need to focus on the rehab for a little while before I can get rolling again.

In other news, one of the physiotherapists where I work was a former pro who rode for Fifty-Fifty in Bristol bitd. Lo and behold, he had not long broken his wrist after hanging up on a grind.

So I guess it doesn't matter if you're pro or just average Joe. SHIT HAPPENS.

Stay safe everyone. Some footage of my colleague below:

Quick go up and down the pavement while the wife was out. Went VERY slowly as bone is still not quite healed. I can still hold a manual which was nice. Pushing regular felt pretty much normal tried a no-comply and tried pushing switch but my ankle didn't like it.

Another 4-6 weeks I reckon, lots of physiotherapy in the interim :D

For what it's worth I suggest, if you will come back, to start using the Etcetera ankle stabiilizer, it's not like traditional ankle braces because this has two non-elastic ribbons which cross around and underneath your foot and then with straps it attaches to the ankle preventing the articulation to "over-roll" when you twist it.
It doesn't stop completely your ankles from rolling, but diminishes the range of rolling and limits a lot damages.
I broke three times my left ankle (once my right one) and can't skate without it, since I use it I rolled the ankle a couple of time with the stabilizer on and after a week I was on the board again, I know that if I wasn't wearing it I surely would have had far worse damages.
The price (less than 30€ shipping included) is really low and totslly worth every penny, considering the fact that other and much more expensive ankle bracers didn't do well as the Etc one.
Wish you a quick recovery and to be on board again as soon as possible. :)

It's incredible how these kind of things happen when tring simple tricks, maybe it's overconfidence, I don't know.
The only thing I know is that each time i broke my ankle I was left asking "how the hell did I broke an ankle doing that"
I'll make you laugh: the last time I broke my anklle, three years ago, 4 months into my "resurrection", I was faking to focus a friend's board, I obviously didn't want to focus the board for real, so I jumped on his board with force but not enough to break it, only that my left foot slipped out of the tail and rolled completely under it, go figure........

Again, I wish you a speedy recovery!

dont go to Robocop with ankle supports I found that a medium density neoprene/velrco support worked fine, it gave a good secure feeling and flexibility whilst letting the ankle build up its strength naturally 8) 8) 8) 8)

ankle supports are made.................to support! when you break an ankle it will never get strong as it was before so ankle's ligaments needs something to help, just because it's weaker and it's easier to roll.
I broke the left one three times so I had no alternative, wearing and ankle bracer or be done at the next rolled ankle.
Apart from this the Etc ankle bracer that I wrote about it's all velcro and neoprene, no robocop thingy, you should try it because it guarantees flexibility and movement.
After the first couple times you wear it you get used to it and forget you have it while skating.

over time the tendons do tighten back up and the surrounding muscle groups strengthen up too, the specialist told me that I could expect about 70% of its original strength/flexibility back :). she also warned me not to over do it for the first 6mths and to avoid heavy supports, as they don't let the natural strengthening process take place properly :!:. so after 3months of physio and not pushing things to hard my ankle started mending very nicely, bearing in mind my foot had done a full 180 rotation like the famous EXORCIST head twist scene
