MASers in the Land Down Under

what happened?

Postby elhornet » Sat Jan 17, 2009 5:58 am

I've spent a bit of time in W.A over xmas and will be here til Wednesday.
Haven't done much skating cause its hot as fuck and theres been surf.
One thing I gotta say tho, what the hell happened round here?

I've been mainly in the South West. Mandurah, Bunbury and down to Margret River a few times.

All I see is bmx gangs and kids on razor scooters, and those fucking rip stick things! I haven't seen 1 kid skating any of the parks in the towns I've been in.

Is skating uncool again?

I know theres people doing good things, I'm just blown away by what I've seen at like 6 skateparks I've been to. Shit is weird. Especially those ripstick things.

it has gone that way, those ripstick things are everywhere but give them 6 months and you won't see any around  BMX has definitely grown though.

If you went to Freo woolstores or any of the other street spots you'd see heaps of skaters. I don't think it's skating that's uncool..just skating parks!

We've got a private ramp just near Mandurah (Herron)..feel free to give me a yell if you're passing, I work down there.

Ah I'm flying out tomorrow. Had alot of time in the water which made it a good trip. I spent most my time in Falcon so Herron would have been rad. Maybe next time!

Ripsticks - They're totally un-functional in a skatepark, and look stupid wiggling around on the flat. No future.

BMX - same size as usual as far as I can tell.
