oz spots

Postby Babylon2009 » Thu Jul 16, 2009 12:40 am

All Australian beaches look like this. After a while they just get samey. And its ALL TRUE about the sharks. Tons of 'em, everywhere. The further north you go, the more you get, until they start mixing it up with the crocodiles and deadly jellyfish. And Brown snakes hide under your towel while your surfing then bite you when you dry yourself off, which doesn't happen because it's so hot you dry off just walking up the beach. Unless you get lost on the way as happened recently at a Blue Mountains surfspot.

I understand completely - when you say "alright" to an aussie they don't get that its an abbreviation of 'how are you doing - alright?'. I've often wondered what they do think we mean.

Also to keep things in perspective, the pubs here SUCK, the people that drink in them likewise, and NEVER bet on a pool game - it becomes a life or death situation very quickly.

I have real problem with the music too - cover bands rule and technical excellence is valued over style, originality and feel. Thats if they're even listening.

Don't get me started on the women. I've been here 27 years and ended up with a lass from Kilmarnock!!! Aussie chicks are crazy.

And Australia is deep-down racist. Full stop.

Speaking of new Aussie skateparks I hear that one is being built in Melbourne, right in the ideal spot of St Kilda. I lived there for 4 years and the place was crying out for a skatepark. Renton Miller (Vert legend and Melbourne local) has been pushing this for a while and has said it is all go....Can't wait to get over there for a visit. In fact I wil hopefully be there over christmas if any of the Aus MAS crew fancy a skate? :)

Well get your plane fare saved up and lets rip it up 8) Seriously though, if there are any Melbourne MAS members then get in touch, I'd seriously love to skate with you over Christmas! I'm looking forward to a skate followed by a few VBs and maybe a bag of Twisties, the finest chip in the world. :D
