greets from Newcastle

Postby Toon » Mon Sep 11, 2017 10:37 am

Hi all, been lurking for a while now,so I'd thought is join up.
I'm 42 and not skated for 20 years. My old skate buddy popped over with his Powell
Ripper a few weeks and skated the mini ramp round the corned from my new house.
He lent me a 1990 new deal deck with a battered tail, and indies. I'm hooked again been skating every other day again! A friend from work has visited California and is bringing
Me back a Nata's evil.cat,NOS Santa Cruz dots amdnsome.Indy bearing.
Just need some 9" trucks might use the old Indy's I got,but they are ground down past the king.pin lol.

Really cool there's a scene \site for us mid life re-skaters.

I used to skate Newcastle street spots circa 1990 and Concord indoor very ramp
Aaaaaaaa happiest days of.my life.

Peace

There must be 10 skate parks around Newcastle now, nothing when I was younger,
gonna shred them all.

Hi, similar story to yourself!
43 and pretty much a 25 year gap. I remember the indoor place at concord though I used to mainly skate street. Not getting out as much as yourself though.
Plenty parks around these days, though not many of us oldies....

Cheers

Great looking board Toon! Love Natas too.

Sounds like you're already having fun on it. Enjoy. And, yes, pads are probably a good idea

fell down the transistion 4ft concrete mini missed axle stall, survived right wrist and left knee took a bang.Luckily no real damage.

After it happened a women came past picking litter, told me shed broke her wrist picking plums, but she tells people she did it skateboarding haha.

I took that as an omen and have bought some cheap pads to hopefully keep me skating.

Got a set of smiths budget pads for 40 quid delivered. Way i see it, cheap pads better than nee pads kidda.

Cant find any reviews anywhere for these pads anywahere online, youtube? surprisingly, maybe they are a new line.
