Hello from Stoke

Postby Esby » Thu Jun 14, 2018 12:47 pm

47 and my first board ever.
Found myself surveying the local area like covert ops in order to find a practice ground where I would not be seen making a total ass of myself !
But... slowly beginning not to give a toss about it.

Happy to hear from anyone in my neck of the woods, Stoke-on-Trent and surrounds .....but I am in VERY early and wobbly days, not no much a social skate as 'sadistic entertainment'.

Still, stubborn in the belief that blind determination will see me through !

Welcome. Used to be quite a few round your way but not heard from them for a while. Enjoy your first skateboard.

Welcome. That'll work and don't forget the you tube how to's, Braille is good channel.

Covert ops for stealthy skates is standard practice for us older newb's.

Welcome from someone not that far in front of you.

Just keep at it and you will improve. Some days you might feel like you've gone backwards, but then you get more progress the next time. Just don't try and do too much too soon because the worst thing for your progress is getting injured!

Welcome to the madness, be prepared to sweat, scare yourself, hurt bits, be unable to easily extract yourself from bed in the morning, have the wife question why you need more than one board & why your gear smells funny, excess regular traveling to the back of beyond, late night card hammering interweb shopping from strange lands ,otherwise it's a right blast  Enjoy! ,, :D :D :D :D

stick with it, once you're confident rolling around and what not, the covert skates quickly become just trips to the skatepark. For me once i realised I wasnt in anyones way anymore then just going for a skate was easy :)
