The only Airwalks I've seen in the last 10 years were at TK Maxx.

i have a saved search setup on ebay for 'Airwalk Prototype' how come these never came up?

i wonder if its cos they are based in germany? surely that shouldnt matter.

confused...!

EDIT: had to specifically set 'worldwide' as location pref, otherwise defaults to uK only.

The only pair of Airwalks I have had were green suede ones.

I loved them until a mate said they looked like Broad Beans.

I did used to really like the look of those old Airwalk high tops as a kid, but they where really expensive.

Apparently the guy behind Airwalk (Sinisa Egelja) died recently ...

http://www.boardistan.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/airwalkstory.pdf

And on other footwear related news, I only recently discovered that Nike now own Converse ... bastards !!

I was hoping they'd re-release the old Converse weapon high tops at some point, but now they'd just be Nikes in disguise .... :x :@~

Just bought a pair of these, they did a money off code thing a couple of weeks ago. Cost me about £55 with free postage.

Cant beat a pair of vans. These are quality.

Just purchased the last new pair of size 10 Dr T hi tops on the planet too.

I've got a pair of the Prototype 600 Retro's in white. Got them from an american shop called The 400. Weigh an absolute fucking tonne. Wore them out once then put them
back in the box!
I also got the German 540's which are very nice, but a little small for me. The biggest they made was a 12US. You may even be able to find them still on German eBay..

Musta owned just about every shoe in this thread, even down to the orange and turquoise pyro (or was it lava) prototypes. Good looking shoe, took a battering from multiple raves then got destroyed skating, but it took me an age to do it.

Vision did some quality ones as well (hi tops) and sometimes you can get hold of them on e-bay - Todd Twists shop is a good bet.

They all seemed to last a hell of a lot longer than anything I've bought recently, but duck tape still does a sterling job when your trying to 'learn' kick-flips for the second time round!!!

i got hold of some black 14000 hi tops this summer.

they are great but no where near as much support as modern stuff. All these knee slides are wearing the toes away pretty bad and one of the soles is coming away from grip tape wear.

the shoo goo is coming out soooooon

Postby bertslide » Mon Nov 30, 2009 9:59 pm

This thread reminds me of the first and only pair of airwalks I bought. I think they were the first type out, looked like suede Vans hitops with that stupid lace cover thing, they were so chunky you could barely feel your board. Always preferred Vans hitops myself, the real american made ones, not the newer sweatshop ones.
Currently have some Lakai hi tops courtesy of ESSJAY's which seem to be holding up well.
But one of my favorites were a pair of suede Converse all stars mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Please excuse my ramblings but the weather is shit up in the bloody north!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cheers
