Can you tell what it is yet ?

Is it the same for you ? when people know you have an interest in photography, they assume you're an expert and know everything there is to know about the subject :?

Wish i had a pound for every time Ive been asked what's the best camera.

My answer is always the same.... The best camera is the one you have with you be it a DSLR, compact or the camera built into your phone. You may have the best Canon, Nikon, Hasselblad or Red money can buy but its no use when you're out and about and its at home !!

Thought it might be a laugh to take random pics while your out and about and post em here. the more obscure the better.

I'm uploading some from my phone as i type ....

Can you tell what it is yet ?

There ain't no best camera. But I'll tell you what I like at the moment - I've got a Nikon1 V1. Upside - small and light and pocketable, takes interchangeable lenses and shoots at up to 60 frames per second (yes, you read that right). Downside - a smaller sensor than a DSLR (but bigger than a compact) so enlargements aren't going to be quite so pin-sharp. I've not used my DSLR since I got it.

Easy, Leica M6, but then again I do shoot film, and own a Leica (unfortunately not an M6)

Nikon FM2 with 100 ISO. Beautiful. Learnt so much from that camera (mostly forgotten) but makes me appreciate a good photo. Stupid to own one now (anytime) really unless you can develop yourself.

Those Nikon1 jobbies look the business. Have little cash and a hoooooge shopping list at the moment before I consider a new camera though

I used to do techy stuff for a mobile phone company. Therefore people used to expect me to be able to fix their computers, get their internet (mobile or non) working, tell them which phone to buy and get them discounts.

If you own a mobile phone company I can work out what is wrong and tell engineers what needs to be fixed when bits of your network fucks up and bodge it until the physical stuff is replaced. I did the other stuff before so could do it but people just expect it off you.

My mate works in a science lab that examines shit and no one asks him favours or tech details about his job.

Re: Can you tell what it is yet ?

did a degree in photography n film....I'm really no expert it was almost entirely a waste of time

any functioning camera is a good camera..but I really enjoyed using a mamiya c330, an om4 , a minolta 7000, a yashica t4. but none of them taught me as much as my first zenit -E

these days I mainly use my phone and two Kodak zi6s for video

top shelf of a 4 shelf shipper i was working on recently..
cardboard unit with plastic clips on the shelf front .
each bottle of robinsons is 1.5kg
and there are 3 double concentrate bottles on the upper stack that are nearly 2kg each
so that top shelf is supporting around 48kg
