Re: Harrow

Yup, I could come do an hour or two. I still can't skate, but if there's other idiots there I'd love to come fail again.

I'll probably have a snowboard in the boot and go up to Hemel after if anyone's got that perversion too...

Re: Harrow

As long as its dry there will be a couple of us there from 8.00 / 8.30 ish

Snowboarding sounds a great idea, but we are already going snowboarding @ Hemel wednesday evening and there is no way I would get away with twice in one week

Fingers crossed for the weather tomorrow !

Rain forcast look on the edge, but I've got all my stuff packed and i'll head out whatever.
I don't know how to prep a wet ramp, so if no-one else is there I'll just do one to Hemel.

Got a spanner for my trucks, everyone says they should be tighter, but I don't know by how much :P

Re: Harrow

Rain forcast for 7am looks to be OK a bit later.

To dry the ramp take a broom to sweep it and then dry with old towels.

Weather looking rubbish and think it will be couple of hours before harrow is skateable, so we have decided to give it a miss today :(

May well be going next weekend and will post on here if we are. Enjoy the snowboarding, at least the weather cant ruin that !

Re: Harrow

Cheers for the headsup, I got to the carpark at 8:10 to see it was sodden and it was still spitting a bit.
Nice to know I didn't need to hang around just in case. I went up to Hemel and got two blinding hours in on the white stuff. Sad to miss out on skating, but you still can't beat any kind of boardsport on any given day.

Re: Harrow

Unfortunately no skating for me at all today Andy :(

We decided it would just be too wet at Harrow this morning and without your magic mop it would have taken ages to dry

I was thinking of popping over to P bar instead and it sounds like I missed a good session :(

Hope to catch up with you all next weekend and take it easy with your foot mate

BUMP

Anyone who is up for Harrow tomorrow I shall be there finishing the clean up then skating until I can't skate no more. The Sun will be out so hopefully it will be a great day.

Would be great to see some people down there with me. I will be there early to get the rubbish clearing done and dusted. However the place is normally dead until 11am so even if your there around 9am theres still a 2 hour window with the park pretty much empty.

I'm looking forward to trying out the rubbish free pool ..-

and trying the snake run again

popping out for the day now but I'll check on here later

Not been here for years, is it now totally un-managed with regard to maintainence, I heard that the performance bowl was filled in a while back, I am talking over 28 years probably.

Yes you are right I'm not convinced they even empty the bins any more. The performance bowl is long gone :(

The old freestyle area and bank now has various wooden mini ramps constructed over it one 6 foot with a spine and a more mellow 4 footer next to it.

Everything else is still there. The concrete is quite rough so softer wheels are recommended but not mandatory ( I have some ordered but I will not of received them by tomorrow).

If you have seen my other posts I have sorted out the flooded snake run and will tackle the remaining litter tomorrow. ~..

Re: Harrow

Bill and I had a great skate this morning at Harrow and it stayed dry right up until we were ready to leave :D

Massive thanks again to Gareth for clearing out the snake run ~ I had not ridden it properly for a long time, because its normally full of crap and its still as much fun as I remember it

But most of the park was even rougher than I remember, even on 95a Rainskates and I may try some 90's next time

Hoping to get back to Harrow again real soon ..-

Re: Harrow

(AW)

Glad you both had a good skate.

I had an awesome session yesterday. It took around 90 minutes to clear the pool, half pipe, moguls, and peanut bowl but it was so worth it. I had the best skate I've had in ages.

Skated everything and loved every minute of it. Met some cool people and I was there from 745 to 540 when my legs finally gave up.

Finally manned up and took on the pool only slammed once and that was the 5th time I carved the pool front side (stoked to even achieve that).

Snakerun was just as good as when I was a teenager. I really feel skating the whole park has done wonders to get my overall balance back so many varied transitions.

yesterday was an epic day. ~.. ~..

I'm looking forward to some more throughout winter :D

P.s did you see my artwork in the snakerun? All I had in the shed was some grey primer :)
