I can be there from about 5:15, it's my first old boys night & first time on a board for 30 years so I'd like to meet up with anyone getting there earlyish just so I'm not the only geriatric in the place.

Not 100% sure I will be there Friday as lots going on at the moment.

however the Old mans session starts at 7:30 and they are strict about it. Unless you pay a few more quid they will not let in you in before.

Age wise I wouldn't worry about that. They do not seem to care.

Pub first hey - I like your style :)

Yes good to meet you guy. Well done for making it across the threshold this time and good to see you still remember how to kick turn. Stu.. Was that you I lent the skate wrench to? The way you tightened those trucks you obviously don't like carving but you were pretty sick in the mini. Bazza.. Didn't see you after about 8 pm.. Did you bail? I had to run at 9 cos missus was unwell. Always S pleasure Gareth.. Bit crowded in there for me last night.. Actually it was rammed with bodies flying everywhere. Gonna start giving it a miss if that carries on. Had to wear a lid more for protection while not skating and shin pads would have helped considering the number of stray boards coming at them

Yh, great to meet some new guys and DBsk8 you really do rip man :-)
Yes I did bail around 8.30, it was stupidly busy, boards flying everywhere, had to bail out on ramps 2 or 3 times cos of others getting in the way! At one point there were 3 people in the bowl at the same time.
Also it was bloody cold, couldn't feel my fingers at all, now I'm 50 and officially old I like to be warm. Went back to my car to stow my bag and thought 'sod this, cars warm I'm going home' :-)

Having nothing to compare it with I didn't find it too bad, but that might be cause I didn't feel ready to tackle the bowl or the ramp, they were way too busy for me. I managed to keep moving and find relatively quiet spots most of the night but even those younger skaters that were flying were courteous and polite so from my point of view I've no complaints.
The big surprise for me was the standard of skating by the older generation, youngsters are supposed to be able to do it but to see people my age pulling those tricks was a real eye opener!

Great night, great bunch of guys - I've already got Feb 27th in the diary!

Ditto Adrian. You can tell DBSK8 can really skate.

Think I need to see a chiropractor if my back doesnt improve soon. I enjoyed meeting everyone but also found it too busy at times. However nice to be out doing something on a Friday night.

It was bloody cold agreed Bazza.

Once the weather picks up we can organise some mellow sessions.

I'm giving it a miss this month for the reasons Brim highlighted.

Are you thinking of going to pioneer next week Gareth? It was the same there last month, there seemed to be twice as many people as usual and the standard of skating had suddenly skyrocketed

Doesnt seem long ago that there were barely enough people going for it to be worth them putting on the old boys night

Yeah planning on showing my face at Pioneer. Although I'm more of a transition skater these days. I still enjoy it. I just get short of ideas!

I agree regarding Bay I might see what it is like at the end of March.

They are great nights its just got a little too big. Even ALL the street sections were super busy last month!

Missed this one last night for the same reason, last month was just too crowded and too cold! Reckon it will level back out as the weather gets better and there is more open air skating going on.

Great night, i wasnt expecting that

It was nothing like last time, not crowded at all. I got more bowl time in than ever before, starting to get my lines sorted out. Most of the time there only seemed to be about 3 or 4 people around the bowl

I did my first 5050 round a corner in the shallow end, been struggling to make it onto the coping for a while so that was a bit of a result.

Yeah i made it home ok ant, still a bit confused about what exactly happened, i've got a slight ache in my right shoulder but thats it. How did i fall head first down a quarter onto crete and not do any damage? Think i must have broken the fall with my head

Yes mark... Jroach
Great night tonight. Not too busy, some new faces and some great action.
Bazza... You not feeling it? You slipped out early?
Finally fallen back in love with the bowl. Had a couple of very tentative runs and when I didn't slip arse over tit started to pick up some speed.. All relative ss most the good guys going twice + faster but really enjoyed the front and back side carving. Awesome bowel and now can't wait for next session.. Funny how a good night can turn your opinion of a place around

Slipped out about 9.45, you were busy carving up the bowl Adrien, just getting a bit of confidence back after a long time away from the parks. Had a good time though as not so busy :-)

Nice new deck bazza.. Stick the greens on next time and get in bowl. Reckon those wheels will grip well and I like to see how they run. That 3ft ramp at the back is great for practicing tricks on. Glad you enjoyed it and really good to see you rolling again
