Was too busy drinking and failing miserably with the ladies to skate in the 90s. Therefore constructed a time machine to remedy the situation...

Those are the most out of place wheels I´ve ever seen! (AW)

Enjoy the time machine my friend, but remember - the only tricks one (at least I..) did in the 90s was pressure flips, late shoves, impossibles and slappy noseslides..

Are they actually wheels? Or are they elastic bands round the bearings?

Skate Tub Time Machine...

Don't forget your puffy shoes, big jeans, and sloppy fliptricks, or you'll stand out like a sore thumb.

:P

When your done with them, send them my way, and I'll skate them on the Barnyard deck.

We should have a skaterhood of the travelling wheels, where we skate the 42mm's, film it, and then send them on to the next person, ad infinitum.

Glad I'm amusing you all (almost) as much as I am myself gents  Cheers!

Had a roll in my mum's garage yesterday, but will have to wait until I get back to Norge to put them through their paces properly. Initial impressions were okay - board obviously sits lower, a shade lighter, and the pop was fine. But my flips and no comply crap seemed marginally worse than normal. Guess there may be a slight transitional/adjustment period.

Surprised to get off the board at the end of the roll and discover wheelbite gouges in the new deck. How the hell did that happen with these pea rollers?

Any advance on your experiences with the bearing condoms?

I've changed back to bigger wheels for now. Didn't feel the advantages of the small wheels as much as I had hoped but the negatives were definitely evident! So now both boards are running 60mm wheels. A soft set and a harder set. Sneaking suspicion there will be more wheel experiments in the future though.

Nicely colour co-ordinated Brian 8)

fftc - yet to really put the Polo mints through their paces. Need the right conditions, meaning a pebble (and dust) free laboratory.

On another note, I feel like a traitor. I've set up a 8.75 and - surprise, surprise - there are some pretty obvious advantages over my usual Black Label 10 inch. Most notably, well duh, the weight. Ridden it a handful of times now and it's so much fun, so lively. Bizarrely I can't flip it as well as the big board, but everything else, especially ollies, comes much easier. I have to admit the Thunder 151s feel great too...

I'm confused.

And broke.

Now you're on a wee popsicle the polo mints will finish the job off Alan!

It's been quite a while since I've posted a setup. Was out with a partial tear in my MCL since spring. Started riding my bike again around the end of the summer combined with PT to strengthen and heal things. I've been skating here and there since then but it finally feels 100%.

Happy Fucking Holidays!

Real Thiebaud Wrench Justice 8.25 x 32.2 x 14.5 full
Indy 139 Hollow Forged, Bones Hardcore Hard, Diamond
Shredz Shop x Spitfire F4 52mm Classics, G3
Mob
Proceeds to the MLK Jr. Foundation for Non-Violent Social Change.

Goes nicely with my Real Fuck this Clown Chump 8.06" setup from last year (although the shape on the new 8.25 full is far better. Steeper nose and tail, and a bit more concave).

Image

Sometimes when skating the Chump deck I felt like it was backwards, which might be strangely appropriate.

This is my ride for 2018 - same deck which I got around September, but new grizzly grip, which to be honest not that impressed with didn’t stick down that well. Let’s see how long it lasts! Ace 44’s / 52mm spits / Bones Swiss.

I think I had either Gullwing DLX shadow 9" or Indy 169's on it with Spitfire F4 Conical Fulls, 1/4 risers & chunkier old school style rails, later on I had ACE 55's & OJ Duane Peters 101a 63mm wheels/ OJ DP 61mm 99a for a while as well , hope that is of some help to you? :)

Looks like the deck is holding up well Mark. Mine is still going strong in terms of pop, but it's fraying badly around the sides now - it's almost like the wood is really dry. It's not so much odd delams here and there as the layers coming apart and shards of the wood just flaking off every time I, for example, land primo (a frequent occurrence). I'm maybe not explaining it so well, so will try and upload some pics at some point.

Anyone else with a Flight found this? Wonder if I've just got a 'bad 'un'....

cheers

To be honest I can’t give you a fair comparison as I don’t really do flip tricks ( yet ) just starting to do heel flips at the end of last year - so not really casing the edges. It might be worth sending some images to Powell or is it skate1? ... not sure - as the deck is covered with a warranty ... I believe?, & it does sound like your deck has a manufacturing fault.

On another topic - I’m finding the new grizzly grip a bit lame!? I came home from work today to find it coming away from the deck. When I was applying it I thought it didn’t have much stick compared to my old faithful Jessup.

Cheers.

I've just contacted Powell/Skate One, so I'll let you know what they say.

There's further small delams around the sides, but these are the worst.

I'm happy with this I suppose.

Mind you, to be honest I don't care about the issue now I know that George Powell has been looking at my board...

(cut and paste from customer service manager response)

I heard back for our QA dept and owner George Powell. Both replied the same way.
"This rail wear is pretty typical of a well used deck. No manufacturing issues jump out at me with this one.

From what I can see- the wood layers, although splintering, show evidence of solid epoxy penetration.

All the missing wood from the rail in the first picture make me believe it has just been worn out. “

I was given the okay to offer you one at half price since the deck did not meet our warranty replacement policy.

I could argue with the worn out part - and none of my standard boards have ever broken up so quickly in this way - but, as I say, I'm happy they responded quickly and took the whinging of an old duffer seriously enough to look into it.

Be interested to see how other peoples' Flights fair in the near future...

Here's the half price deck. Unfortunately the fact I was 'saving money' persuaded me to buy two

This is the 192, 9.265 with a 14.75 wb. Stuck some old Thunder 151 and Spitfire F4 conical full 53mm on there. Rode it this morning and loved it.

The concave is deeper than the 246 (9 inch), which is the other board I picked up/am replacing. The shape, in my eyes, is lovely.

My last deck was 8.5” and about 1” shorter wheel base
and overall length. This feels long in comparison and defiantly more board in front of my front foot. I guess it’s what’s your used to. Much more stable and and ticking all the boxes for me so far.

Haven't had a new deck for a while
Broke the tail on my red one - like Swede G's beauty above - the other day (scroll to the right here and you'll hear it go - https://www.instagram.com/p/BgeDfo-Dltj ... ndertime74) so decided to set up a little black number. Going to try the Avenues out again for a while before one (very probably) snaps (again) and I retreat to the Aces. Still snowing here by the way. Bloody sick of it.

They remind me of Airwalk Vics.

Not sure I could pull them off, but I quite like these too - only the blue ones though.
The black and the white ones don't appeal, and the white and blue ones i've seen are a massive no from me. :@~

I'll keep an eye on the 'What did you buy today?' thread. :D

Cheers.

Ah. Googled it.
I like the other colours too.
Some have laces which sound more practical, but the laceless look better to me.
I want a pair too!
They will prob cost a months salary here though!

I'm also tentatively stoked for the return of ipath in fall/winter 2018. Need a pair of the cats.

But there have only been instagram posts, haven't actually seen them available, and there is no ipath website I can find...so it could all be a cruel ruse.

Aws 8.25 / 14.50 wb fairly mellow concave.

I have two identical set ups! One is kept at work for lunchtime sessions & one at home. I ride a motorcycle to work most of the year & carrying my board was tricky.

Good looking board. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Stats look perfect too.

I like an 8.25 with mellow concave.

That Sims is sweet! Brings back lots of good memories.
Anyhow, on the Scram now but the next one is the same shape/size as before. Doomsayers 8.4 shovel. Loved it so much I had to get it again.

He really wished it was the pitbull photo on the shovel. But alas, that didn't happen.

That's seven-ply-- seven layers of a thin veneer...
that are bonded together, cross-grain...
to form a board that's practically indestructible.
