That's a great looking board Mark - what length is it? Do you find the pig shape and flat nose cause any issues with ollies? Last time I skated my Per Welinder my leading front came off the front during an ollie and I rolled right into it, hurt like fuck. So, be careful on that front!

I got another unnecessary necessity. This. The 9.78 version. I like.

Cheers chaps. Here’s an updated pic with the proper gear on it.
It’s funny I mainly bought it for bowl skating as my confidence is down on the pop & straight away I loved the shape & the feel of flatness underfoot. I’ve got to a point with my skating that I was getting frustrated during my sessions when tricks weren’t going to plan.... & skating should be fun!? So the plan was get something that I could just have fun on & not get stressed about tricks & this board combined with bowl riding has ticked that box. It has revealed my fitness level needs work. & yes you can Ollie but I’m very cautious with my front foot so they are tiny.

Your new deck looks rad.
Happy shredding all.

Looks rad dude! I recently switched to a different setup because of similar reasons, I had gotten too focused on tricks and it stopped feeling fun. Had a great skate on Friday, just carving and flowing around on my Street Axe.

That’s rad dude - I skate mainly bowls now which has brought the enjoyment back, no pressure on myself for landing tricks - just shredding the concrete wave! Awesome feeling especially on the flat pig shape.

Happy shredding dude.

just move your foot back to around the middle of the board for ollies. Or you can go all 80s and flip to the front 2 bolts so the nuts are facing up. I think Gonz started that one.

Cheers dude, it’s rad to ride - pretty much no concave! It’s 10.375 wide with a 15.75 wheelbase. I will measure the overall length when I get chance & let you know. I bought it to ride bowls so not really done many ollies on it - but done a few taking extra care of my front foot positioning. It’s made by Watson laminates .... it’s a thing of beauty.

Great looking shape, and a cute pup too.

Thanks @reckless toboggan.

Since I cant skate still i bought a deck. Something fat and fun this time.

Why not? Great shape, wood, and 2 skater owned companies collab again.

Some lovely looking setups there guys. All my recent boards have been popsicles so thought I'd try something different. To my surprise I can actually remember this board from the 90's, not much else though. For the sake of good karma I think my next one will be a Powell Peralta.

Cheers, yeah 56mm on this one, I've also a set of 54mm's. I had a big Creature popsicle with 169's and the 56's and wanted to try a smaller board so I bought a smaller Creature deck with the same design some 149's and the 54 Ray Barbees in the hope that the wife wouldn't notice. My plan worked until I left one board in the hall then walked in the front door with the other one in my hand.......

I love that. Great to see all angles to get an appreciation of the shape and nose/tail height. Would you say the concave is flat, mellow or medium? So so tempted...

Here you go undertime, the rule was in the middle of the deck and it's around 7.5mm from the rule edge to the centre of the deck. It does look a little more in the photo but I think that's due to the fact I couldn't get the lens close enough to the deck. If you want any more info let me know. R1 has them on sale.

I don't think that's silly either... I buy boards in pairs (because I always buy the same shape), so I'm constantly checking if anyone has some reduced.
Tempted to build a bot that scans the interweb for pinpointed bargains... IF(board A price < Y price) THEN purchase board A x 2...

Arggh this forum is great but terrible for my wallet...... I'm going for a skate later and will decide on the second Jason Lee based on my performance (who am I kidding, I'm shit I'm shit, I know I'm shit but can't stop buying more lovely shit)

I was reading through some old threads and now have a completely irrational desire for some indy 215's.

Giving a 7.75 a shot! I figured I mostly skated a 7.50 in the 90’s with varied success ...... just done some stationary ollies & it felt pretty good.

Happy shredding all.

On the living room carpet they feel quite turney with the stock bushings in   , will give them a go also got some bones softs which I have in my regular board for direct comparison, just disappointing they don't do any bigger one's as they are a bargain price in the UK for a change :)

Just got this Pocket Pistols Gonz - the shape is very similar to the Skull and Banana Blind. Wheels are 56mm Powell G-Slides - the photo makes them look bigger than they are, good on rough terrain but slide well, especially as they break-in. Concave is mellow and it rides great.

After last weeks rainstorms I finally got to try out the Film trucks at Newsham bowl today. I put some Bones softs in to match my regular ride for a better comparison, currently stage 11 Indy 159 Hollows as the standard mediums that come with them weren't turney enough anyway for me. Well they seems to ride just like most trucks, decent height (not Lows) possibly a a smidgen less responsive than the Indy's but the difference was pretty negligible, nice smooth turney ride & the grinds sound had a little different more of a satisfying rasp to them, a bit like the new Gullwings, but not quite as nice, for £36 delivered (From Note Manchester) you really can't go wrong, pity 155 is the biggest they currently do. :)

Guessed from the white streaks on the nose in the middle pic - bolts diagonally out to the toe side (heel flips), bolts almost straight up to the very tip of the nose (one foots), and scuff marks at the curve of the nose (ollies).

Favorite shape. I normally skate longer wheelbases with Indy or Ace but this 14" WB works perfectly with Thunders

Chocolate Chico Brenes "Big Boy" 9 x 32.25. 14 WB with a nice 7.1 Nose and 7 tail
Thunder Titanium 149

BMCsteve, lovely looking setup. I love the wood look. It looks like a very enjoyable shape too.

What wheels and trucks? Are you still skating the 7.75? I had a blast on one recently and enjoyed it. I realised you don't have to limit yourself just because it is a small "street" deck.

Happy shredding all.

Hi dude, I use venture lows & have used two different wheels on the set up.
Spitfire f4 con fulls 52mm
Fast wheel co 42mm

I found the 42’s a little small on the streets, prob be ok on a smooth park.

They feel nice - obviously got to run a small wheel for wheel bite reasons but the pop is solid.

So i decided I wanted a shaped deck, and fancied a PS Stix made one, as i hadn't had one. But not Welcome, because i don't like the artwork.

So I did some searching and it was incredibly hard to find a PSS deck in the UK, which wasn't Welcome. Everyone seems to have gone to the woodshop that make Jart, or BBS/Generator.

I got recommended a Tired, but they have also now switched to Generator for their new decks. I bought a Streetplant but had to return it as the drill holes were off center, so then eventually found this aircraft carrier of a deck, and as my nickname was once Shaggy (due to ill advised indie bowl haircut and attempted goatee in my yoof) I just had to get it.

Only thing is, it’s 9.5 wide, like a boat compared to the last pops deck I had.

Might need to up the truck width now, Theeve 5.85s looking a bit dwarfed. How does this happen?
