Ollie eureka moment ( 26 years later)

Postby skater73 » Mon Jun 20, 2016 10:15 pm

Thought I'd post this separately to the other ollie topics.
I learned the ollie 26 years ago but am now 42, 3 kids, full time job etc.

This evening I realised I've been trying too hard with my ollies!

Try this: stand next to your board, push down the tail with your back foot just enough for the nose to lightly pop up so your front hand can grab it ( like you do when you go to pick it up).

I stood in my garage doing this 20 odd times. As lightly as possible but still nose into hand.

I then went back to ollieing, using as little back foot as possible.

I ollied higher straight away, or the same but with a lot less effort.

This tip relies on you already being able to ollie but are struggling to get much more than curb height.

It takes so little effort to get the front wheels 18" high ( it's just the back wheels you need to suck up but that's been explained in other posts)

Hope this helps someone.
