In case any of you are thinking of filming a projected image DONT try it with a DSLR..... it will not work, as whatever the refresh rate is projectors use you cant cancel it out with a DSLR, so had to abandon the filming and need to see if my blackmagic 2.5k camera has any issues with refresh rates .....
i tried 2 different laptops MAC/PC, and in the camera i tried PAL/NTSC and every frame rate and shutter speed....
I read that camcorders dont have any issues, so ill look into that
I guess the moral of this is dont turn up on the day and try and use equipment you have not tried or know nothing about
Turns out this was a LCD projector .... so DONT bother even trying to film what they project
So to conclude this the band used a LED projector to finish off the shoot... and no issues with my DSLR camera... not sure if the 2 locations / 2 projector will fit together in the edit, i might just have to embrace and use the differences of quality
after masses of messing about .... here is some lowfi footage
