(AW) specs - did you use any special tools to make the cuts that good?

Thanks for that Tony B... A clean cut helps the lens clip into place. i've recycled another board by cutting it up, then stack laminating it back together, with a final cut across the grain to create the finished look. just got to tag it now. Image

Call me obtuse but never in a month of Sunday's would it occur to me that you could turn a deck into a pair of shades.

Nice work there, really impressive and original.

There strong, lightweight and popular in the states. Its a good way to immortalize an old or broken deck. I have now found an optician who is going to shape some prescription lens into the frames to help my ageing eyesight !!!!!!!

Would love a set of them shades if they become available!

I had a go at a cruiser a while ago from a used popsicle. I ended up getting 5 more from my local skate shop as I had interest from people wanting to ride one although I have yet to shape them.

Image

I also used some of the offcuts to have a go at rings using the layers of coloured wood as the decoration. I'll upload a pic of one at some point.

Both of these projects unfortunately have suffered from lack of time!

Good luck with the jewellery and look forward to seeing the photos. Shades are available, but not sure if the administrators of MAS would be okay with me putting up a link. :D

Yeah I think I would be a little nervous about offering any boards that are available. Seems on one hand it would make sense for genuine MASers to be able to sell their hand made creations but eventually it would become unmanageable differentiating between genuine MASers and genuine wankers just using the site as an advertising outlet. Have you asked Woody's advice about how you could offer your product without affecting the integrity of the site? Maybe the Facebook page?

Plucked up the courage today to set the jigsaw loose on this de lammed Heroin DMOTW today. I'm shite at diy and had to borrow the jigsaw.
I used a lush huna as a template. It was a little wonky down one side when I finished but a bit of sanding finished it nicely.

First attempt at putting on a bit of grip tape - far from perfect, but then I reckoned it doesn't need to stand up to ultra close-inspection, eh!

Deck is a Witchcraft Nun So Vile (bought on here a couple of years ago). Decided I wanted something a bit different, sure enough haven't seen one like it yet: mind you that's only North of Edinburgh!

Next thing is to increase the wheelbase to 15.5.

Sorry for dragging and oldie up but did one to get something to ride with my dog and still be able to ollie up curbs and over stuff. My "Bowl Troll" was a no name 8" popsicle I bought to flake, panel, and sell. It was so warped I didn't even bother. Wanted something to ride in the rain and this fit the bill(cheap/didn't care if it got trashed). Its now 7.5" wide at the widest(to fit a set of early 90's Ventures I had lying around) with some 56mm/78a Cadillac wheels and bones soft bushings. Great little cruiser to take the dog out on or run to the store for a beer. Can't wait to do another!

Really nice stuff. Love the celtic knot style cutout Orbitfish. That makes we want to try something a little more elaborate with my next grip job. My current one was just a circle to reveal the welcome logo, but the rest of the board top is a lovely deep red colour so I will make sure to reveal some of it next time :)

The graf wasn't me but I did the grip job on my old set up, the yes fam! writing in the grip was done using a laser cutter at work and it turned out pretty well - despite smoking a hell of a lot under the laser!

And the easier option of stickers and clear grip on my current set up.

Been using the plywood ones for a while, and have been meaning to drill some big holes in them to reduce the weight.
While fiddling with my hole saw, inspiration struck - I give you round risers - 1/2 the weight of the rectangular ones:

while putting together a setup to try some new wheels on, I decided the deck needed a bit of a reshape, so into the garage it went for an appointment with a handsaw and sander:
