Fixing rails

What is the current way of fixing on rails.

I have been advised screws are good enough but my old head says sex bolts are better.

What do you all do?

No problems with wood screws. Line them up and make a wee dent with a knitting needle (or some proper tool if you've got the kit) before screwing them down.

I think someone (Warwick?) mentioned something not long ago about a brand that had built in glue. But i could be totally mistaken.

Think it's Welcome with the glue pad thing. The screws that come with Pig and Bones have been fine for me so far, but not using them at the minute.

Literally just gone back to rails today after a year or so spent skating without them. Fitted some Rib Bones last night. Just screwed them in, the screws they come with mean no need for drilling. Stuck two tiny bits of blue tack under each rail to position them and hold them.

Very much enjoyed having rails back. Think I may now be definitely a rails man.

Stick with the screws. Decks always crack/snap where they are drilled for sexbolts.

I use pig rails on all my boards, attached with the screws supplied.
They seem pretty secure to me.

Screws are good for me. Hold the rail in place with a G-clamp when screwing as this helps prevent the rail from lifting. A pilot hole is also a good idea.
