Frontside ollies Mount Hawke spine and smiths

Ok I can stick frontside ollies on the 6ft spine at Mount Hawke. But not sure if I'm level with the coping getting above it or just under. I think I'm level or just over but can't seem to push them higher. Usually loose control. Any advice on popping them higher? More speed? More pop I'm lost. Also FS Smiths. Need to fully crack these. Can FS 50-50 just can't seem to get in the position with front trucks in the ramp :?

Help please!!!!

Pritch, the spine at Hawke was where I first had my eureka moment with FS smiths. If we do get together for a session there lets have a go for you. FS 50-50 is a very good start. You should probably be comfortable with FS 5-0 too, at least on smaller stuff so you can feel the difference in weight balance. (Although I think FS smith is more similar to 50-50, it is somewhere inbetween that and 5-0 so...)

Can you get smith stalls or little ones on the smaller ramps? I found that coming from fakie helps find the position to get the rail on, without having to get your front wheels all the way 'over the top' if you see what I mean? :?

Also, my thoughts on the 'ollies out the top' dilemma is probably that if you are going above the coping, then you are coming down past it on landing, hence more risk = scarier! It will come with more confidence on the trick I think, not something I do though, just an observation. 8)

Need to film myself really (not easy). FS Smiths have always been something I wanted to nail. I can do FS layback grinds all day! I can do FS Smith stalls it's just the motion into the grind that seems to baffle me?

With the ollies it's the height and pop/ staying over your board when above the coping is what I'm having problems with. I'll see if I can use a mates camera and get the missus to film me (skateboading!)
