Sheepy Hill

If your on facebook then have a look at Johns crash in the final

http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=530798083

There are also a few pics of the event which you can view even if you are not signed up

If you want an amazing place to longboard then go there. Steep windy hills where you can see a mile ahead so safe from cars. A few of the guys found a four minute downhill run! definately going back there.

Re: Sheepy Hill

Gav, there is so much there to skate. If you don't turn left after the start line then it's just a mile of downhill, gentle sweeping bends and I would estimate about 30 mph max. I am hoping to make another trip this year.

Re: Sheepy Hill

This is the view from the startline of the race to the finish ( between the last bend and the bridge) It is fast and technical. But look past the bridge at the bottom and see how far the more mellow hill goes. From the top you can see practically all the way to the bridge. Have a look at the road that goes straight on, (we turned left for the race). Also to get to where I took the pic from is a mellow hill of about a mile.

If you want to chat to people at the top and bottom of the hill then take radios, there is no mobile phone reception.

Definately need to sort out another trip there soon.

That hill is beautiful  Where is it? Looks like Yorkshire or the edge of the peak district.

I was about to zoom in on the sign to see if I could work out where it was!
Is this where I am supposed to write something witty?

I tried that first but it was too blurry. Cheers for the link. Our next surf trip to Wales is going to be following a much different route

Re: Sheepy Hill

Modhop.

They were skating the long 4 min. run, there is a cattle grid at the end of it, it caught Joe by surprise, and he bailed. Unfortunately he landed badly and dislocated his shoulder. He also sustained nerve damage and currently has no feeling from just above the elbow to his fingertips. However the damage is not permanent and will return, Apparently by 1mm per day!

The real downer of Joe's crash is that he was the guy who organised the event.

Re: Sheepy Hill

Is the cattle grid the rusty metal bridge thing ?

Hope he's better soon, I'd like to attend next one.
