guys thanks for your advice above.. all well noted.
as I said I have now bought a new deck as I cant bear to be without one while I attempt to resolve this and for your interest have copied the email I have now sent to Landyachtz to see if they will look to help make a customer happy again.
Dear Landyachtz,
I am writing to let you know of my recent woes.
Of all the boards to choose from having sold my wedding ring on eBay to mark closure of my failed marriage, I chose your battleaxe 2011 model. A great looking board with the dimensions I was looking for to help me progress my longboarding and as soon as I set foot on it I was in love!!
I had placed my order with longboards uk on 25th June and received the goods 27th and first ride was on 28th. On Monday 2nd July on putting a bit of pressure on the tail to initiate a bit of pop the tail cracked on my otherwise almost scratch free pride and joy!!
I reported this to my vendor and since than have been communicating with them and eventually the uk landyachtz distributor j and r sports. My board was collected but was judged not to be a fault with the board.
I am writing to you to contest that decision - the uk has a keen long boarding community and I am s member of forums where all aspects of the sport are discussed including equipment,in great depth. My feeling is that after 4 days of modest riding a tail on a board should not snap unless there was a fault in either manufacture and/or design, and opinion that Is shared with more experienced longboarders than me.
I am a realist and if this had happened even after 3 months of hard riding I would have accepted that the decks are to a degree consumable and consider the damage bad luck but accept it! But after 4 days of moderate riding?
J and r argue that I must have made a mistake on landing or something like that which to s degree I accept as a possibility - however I don't feel from landyachtz point of view for that to be a glowing endorsement for rider progression if a single mistake on a much enjoyed and far from extravagant manoeuvre leads to board failure.
Any way I have forwarded part of my communications with my vendor and have included some of the pictures I sent to longboards uk prior to my board being collected by j and r sports, who retained my board.
After falling in love with landyachtz and this board I am now bitterly disappointed at the almost instant loss of my cash and hope that you are able to intervene directly to restore my faith in your brand.
Best regards
lets see if i get a response.
at this stage do i want the board replaced? not sure but if they sent me a teeshirt and stickers i'd have something to show for my money eh?
