Sussex Meets? So Ronery....

Sussex Meets? So Ronery....

Do any of you chaps/chapesses meet on a regular basis in sussex? Being a noob and seeing as I cannot convince anyone to take up boarding, I wondered if I could tag along to any sessions subject to availability and approval from my Parole Officer. I get quite violent in confined spaces and can get tasty wiv an 'ammer sometimes, but other than that I don't pose any considerable risk.

Hi, there is the longboard Brighton group who are quite active (all ages) that I have been to couple of sessions with https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_30679398184&ap=1

or we could maybe have a meet up at Hove park in the next few weeks, for a gentle roll a round. Not been on my longboard for about a year so should be `fun`
Anyone else up for it :?:

When's the best time to do Hove Park, or is it awash with joggers and dog walkers 24/7?

It varies, best to avoid 3:30 school kids out, Sunday 10:00 am can be the slalom boys although not a problem if you can cone dodge a few of them then its fine, although they use the 'best' slope, I prescribe a Thursday late afternoon/evening, any good for you ?

I''d be up for it, depending when you choose. This Thursday may be tricky though as I'll just be back from oop north and the missus may be grumpy if I head straight out.... This Sunday could be good as 'fight club' is on half term break.

Consider it pencilled. Will be less of a roll, more wobble, snap, sirens.

It's out of control. I've been trading suitcases full of samples with other tileaphiles at the rear of Wickes late at night.

Dom says afternoon, so whatever Dom says goes. If it's dry and I can drag myself away from the intoxicating allure of the tile adhesive shall we say 13.00 hrs?

Anyway, seems I have a pass, I dont finish Fencing until 12:00 though, and I'll need a feed so I don't expect I'll get there much before 2:00.

As it happens I'll be in Brighton this weekend but doing wife organised activities (these don't always include any sort of skateboarding) I might have a longboard in the car with me however.
What sort of time are you planning on getting there and how long for?

I know this an old thread, so apologies for any poor forum etiquette resurrecting it!

I'm a former skater who's just bought a longboard after 20-odd years off-wheels, based in Burgess Hill, and can see myself getting down to Hove Lawns a bit once I've reaquainted myself with the basics - if folks are still meeting up, I'd be up for rolling along :)

I remember this forum from the dim and distant past. I wouldn't worry about the basics, I never got past that stage! I'm up for a roll when anyone's available or if anyone is still alive. Evenings and weekends mostly.

I have literally just taken delivery of my new longboard and would be happy to meet up round Hove Park to get some help on what I'm doing.
I'm usually down that way every Monday evening as I am also a referee for Brighton Rockers Roller Derby and we train in the King Alfred at 8:30.
I could meet up for an hour or so around 7 or 7:30ish if anyone is available and willing to offer me some guidance. Alternatively along the seafront/Hove Lawns from the King Alfred car park is a definite alternative option.
Shit but enthusiastic
