History of skating and surfing

We could make this a long running thread with photos and articles about the combined history of the two. Articles about people that do both activities. Technology break through s,common maneuvers, stylists etc.

Like them or loathe them the Fletcher family have had a massive affect on the surf/skate continuum. Grandad and great uncle charged big waves in the 40s and fifties. Herbie did pipeline in the 70s and is a great longboarder to this day. He is in the earliest photo I have seen of someone skating a pool (on clay wheels).Christian is a good skater and helped elevate aerial surfing to where it is today, albeit with some dubious style.his brother is a big wave charger and his son appaers to be a good skater.
