8) Another nice album chronicling the good old days. Good to see i wasn't the only skater holding on to a knackered pair of Rector gloves :)

I don't recall skating the Andover park; i think by then my lot were skating a concrete mini bowl a school m8 had in his back garden (on the right side of the tracks in Weybridge). Not long after the demise of Skatestar we all gave up :(

Thanks Alec, don't think i remember him tho.
Those days were the best, long train journeys from Plymouth, change at Exeter, slow haul every 2-3 weeks
to skate. Then i drove it regularly in my white Ex police Ford Escort (My first car). Made my best and longest friends there.
We listened a lot to Bauhaus- In The Flat Field and Souxsie and banshees. (before Goths)
The Mabrook and Gary Lee doubles was something i saw the first day I ever went there in 1980.
They had it dialed and made the whole routine every time.
I won the Southern area pool riding champs in that bowl in 1982.
I still have the returnable annual shield coz it was never held again.

Good times.

Not sure if it was featured in a mag but i've done a quick search and this looks like it. It was on St. George's Hill and made out of sections with an even minier quarter pipe run in. That tree looks mighty familiar! I think i have a photo of us skating it somewhere. Skated with music blaring away but can't for the life of me remember what!
Peter's parents were really cool. His dad set up a video camera one time and after the session we went back to the house to check out our skating (i'd love to see that again if it still exists).
My Mom told me that when she picked me up one day Cliff Richard passed by and waved to her thinking she was a fan
Wow; do i like to ramble on or what (SCS)

What a great set of pictures!
As well as the Andover mob I also spot Rodga Harvey, Mick Forster, Steve Lily and Colin Taylor too.
I've raided my photo archives and found a few more taken I think on the same day by Steve Lily...

a lot of women remark on that...

I looked at that pic and thought "Who's that he looks familar, I had skates like those and some of those knee pads, wait a minute that's my old helmet, hang on it is me"

That's Doug Camerons old helmet with the Variflex 'El Gato' sticker that he gave me when he got his Flyaway.
