Re: Peghill

Dry in Thornbury at 06:45 so I got the ankle biters out of bed and fired up to go...........

Loaded the car with kit and sweeping stuff......... Odd spot of rain, thought it might be ok at Peghill..........

It was damp at Peghill, must have missed you by 20 mins And. It then p1ssed with rain.

Oh well! It is April. Friday is looking better for Filton and of course if it keeps for the weekend.

Re: Peghill

Managed a skate at Nottingham yesterday - Southglade Road. Really good, with a clover leaf bowl and lots of slopes and a curved 8ft bank to carve. :D

(AW) park, nearly as good as Peghill.

Don't need to be ace to ride it and look ok - suited me fine.

Saturday is looking good for an early one.

Bl00dy hell And......... That means you'll be there just after the bonfire lighting, rubbish throwing, midget gem mine field laying, how sh1t can I make my hang out, yeh-but...... yeh-but....... yeh-but........ no yoof have gone home tapping your feet waiting for the sun to come up. :) :D

Should be there for 07:00 which in reality is nearer to 07:30. The usual departure time is 10:00 ish but if the karma and craic is good I'd be mad not to stay longer.

With out a doubt the ankle biters don't like their turf being poached

I'm still working on that one but will enjoy doing the same to the little sh1ts when able

I'll be there by 7am and be done and dusted by 10am at the latest.
I've not yet had any problem with skaters there (the odd older BMXer on a couple of occassions) ... on the contrary most skaters are happy to chat. Most of the time the younger skaters will just stay in the red using it like a half-pipe, which leaves the purple, green and blue free!

Re: Peghill

Good little session yesterday, tried out my new wider mini-logo and slightly wider indys and was really pleased. The board turns slightly better and is a touch more stable - basic physics really. :)

Still working on the axle stalls, or lack of them. progress is being made. shy'd away from any big drop-ins untill I get used to the slightly wobbly feel with the deck.

A few 'newbie' early bird scooterists were there catching up on skills before too many were about - respect - because that is what I do. Somebody had cleared a bit of rubbish before And had got there  reckon I'll change my mind on blanket comments about yoof messy habbits.

A smashing warm dry session. Cheers And, Evs and Cookie.

Your be smahing down the Cookie 180 out the red next. :) I finshed Sat with hurting ankles, aching knees but was just glad to be getting back on the board.

Caught a glimpse of you Mr C, sweeping out the mini half pipe. Couldn't stop - shirt and tie for a 1-2-1 with the boss first thing. :( Boss was later than a bag full of late things, late enough that I could have even got half an hour in.

Saturday was fun - good to see you again Nick. Cracking fun that street board  Got me thinking.

Day trip to Newcastle for me tomorrow so no Peghill Monday morning. :?

Emersons Green looked pretty boring on one site I looked at - no bowls. another site I looked at suggested a good bowl but looked dodgy as a virus warning appeared with the aim to get me to click 'OK' :( probably to run some dodgy exe.

Is there a bowl? Maybe worth an early one for an adventure gents.

a guy from the council walking his dog turned up this morning.
Taking photos of the rubbish and fires that had been started.
he said they put £10000 pounds toward the upkeep and repair of the skatepark each year.
Any money left in the pot is then put towards more equitment.

Park was empty this morning. have the kids given up on getting up early

I was there this morning at 7.30ish and swept up a lot of burnt stuff from the bowls and surrounding areas - if the bloke who was there with the dog this morning had glasses and a beard, probably Mike Drew from the Town Council - was chatting to him the other day, he seemed ok ...
What to do? kids like lighting fires, smashing glass, pissing in the bowls and leaving litter right by where they are sitting.
... just keep taking the industrial sized brush up there and sweeping!

He was there Monday morning too, but your right and nothing is gonna change with the kids/rubbish situation it's been like that for the last 10 years, I wish he was more interested in the poor condition of the ramps and bowl than the rubbish, but that is probably hoping for too much, as for spending 10K a year on the uipkeep that makes me laugh, there's real money and then there's council money, for 10K a year we could have that park in mint condition. I've offered before to repair and improve the damaged concrete myself for free, but oh no that would contravene some health and safety rules, better just to leave the holes and cracks as they are, as far as the council are concerned.....That's my rant for the day over, time to get on with some more work.

Gents.......

10K a year - just under £200 a week, won't be far off by the time they've visited a couple of three times a week and back office tasks........

I probably did some mindless stuff when I was a nipper but in truth I would never have behaved like that when I was an ankle biter. Trouble is when 100+ kids get together it only takes a few and I bet most of the actual damage occurs when the older kids are there in the evening.

Take some deep breaths Cookie.......... Relax.......... Deep breaths............ Relax......... and rest.

I'll deffo be filling in the pot holes with some fast drying goo at some point and any other maintenance that I think I can get away with.

Re: Peghill

Gonna go up tomorrow before work, if anyone else is about.
I got the next 2 weeks off Tony, probably wont get much skating in as I am starting a major renovation project on my house, but I'm sure I will fit in a few sessions here and there.
Fri at Midsommer will be a waste of time, trust me that place gets beyond packed.
Dont forget the following Wed although our kids are back, other schools are off, particulary in Wales, but it should be quieter, I will try for another trip there sometime before the summer hols whilst the kids are in school obviously, will try and arrange a date with Lecky and you guys soon. (not a romantic one, a skate one, although we could take candles)
Tony dont forget that 10K is probably only really spent over 6 months as they have to do next to nothing all winter, and as for repair materials that must account for about £9.99 of the budget for a new broom. I still think we should do stealth repairs/improvements ourselves, although in the past I have done some concrete work there and the kids themselves have fucked it up before it dried.

How do you rate Marlborough mate?

Marlborough is super smooth and has some nice pump bumps to carve around.

Thanks for bringing the longboard Mr C - I want one in the toy box :D

Quite enjoyed today gents, improvements made on the axle stall front - on the cusp.

It looks like I'm going to be there tomorrow with a few ankle biters in tow, 07:15 to about 09:30.

Got the go ahead for Mid-Som-Nort on Wednesday :D
