Saltash shredder

Hi All,
Just discovered this, looks great! I'm an occasional park/vert rider old enough to know better. I have a modern set up that I don't mind trashing as well as my original boards from the 70's. I run a Westcountry Jed Dek, Bennett pro add tracks and either orange Yoyos or multi coloured Powerflex 3's which I take take with as it was mine back in the 70's and as had a tough life, bless it. I also have an Alva deck, Laser trucks with original 70mm green Kryps ( although I seem to remember no one ran 70 green back then!). Now enjoying the occasional rip at Saltmill, doing what I know and still loving it ( had a go at progressing a couple of years ago but ended in tears and a long lay off!). Loving that there is a place for like minded oldies to share our experiences as I previously felt like the only 40+ skater out there!!
Can't Ollie, won't Ollie.

Hey, I will get some pics when I get my gear out of storage, just moved house. Keep my modern rig in the wagon 'just in case' but have the other 2 stashed away. Good hearing from you. I'm in Cornwall.

Now that sounds a good idea as i think there are some mods that you can have for the software the sites running on (think there is something like phoogle map)

Yeah I was going to say. ;) I'm in Plymouth and while I don't get to Saltmill much (lovely indoor park in Plym) I do like a cruise there sometimes. I'll PM you my mobile number.. have you tried the mini at Millbrook? that's a nice one. 8)

Re: Saltash shredder

Welcome Chap

Can't believe you're still have a working Westcountry 'Jedeck'... It was the last board I had before my skate hiatus in the early 80s (Jedeck, Tracker , Westcountry 65mm greens) <)

PM any of the Cornish reprobates on here, should you be heading a little more westerly...

Cheers

Re: Saltash shredder

Cheers Chaps, I feel welcome already! Trevenen, that would be cool when Ivey my head around the site, seems a bit busy to me at the mo.
Yeah, the Jedek is still going after years of being usedto cart around heavy furniture etc!! Poor thing is looking a bit tired but still usable as are the long suffering Bennetts that I ground the hell out of when I was 12, ha ha.
Good to hear from you all. Skate on!

Re: Saltash shredder

Cool, do they still have that park down the road in Bideford by the river?
Always went past it while working up there but never had my board to ride it, looked good.
Could anyone help me, trying to upload some pics? Cheers

Re: Saltash shredder

Welcome JF067.
Managed to hang onto my old board - Jim Muir deck, tracker extracks, powerflex 9s. Gonna get some new bearings and give it a gentle ressurection. The modern decks for trashing
When next making like a grockle in deepest darkest Cornwall I'll pack the board and look out for Saltmill :)

Pad up, keep whole, skate longer

Re: Saltash shredder

For uploading photos sign up for a free photobucket account:
http://www.photobucket.com

then use it to pick the photos off your computer.
Then you can use the code from them to copy and paste here, it will look like this
(without the 'code bit' that's to stop it actually showing a picture):

  Code:
[img]http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/youralbumname/myphoto.jpg[/img]

But when you preview it you will see the picture. ;)

As for Saltmill, yeah I think I have missed it off my Skate Cornwall website:

http://www.skatecornwall.com

Need to add it, and maybe Millbrook too, nice mini that one.
Hmm just realised I cropped the map so it would be quite a bit of work to redo it.
Guess I really should re write it anyway it's pretty inefficient as is. :?
