I was wondering when this kinda thing was gonna land on here...
basicaly if you have dropins wired its not to taxing... dont panic ..
The revert part happens around the front wheels so if you twist your shoulders as you start to drop in the aim is to get your front wheels to hit the ramp off center
(kinda 45 degrees to your start position) and your weight mostly over them ..this will allow your back wheels to slide round with your rotation and overtake the front of the board as you it does prepare to transfer your weight back even and roll out fakie...
it just takes a little confidence..

try them on a shallow bank to start with..
hope this has been helpfull and good luck out there..

I learned this trick after years off skating when i was 34 and it is definately do-able .
The biggest problem i had when learning it was that i was trying to keep my bodyweight over the coping , so
when i tried to revert i had too much weight over front which meant i was trying too kiss the coping .
The biggest tip i can give is have your shoulders pretty much turned all the way round , and push that
rear foot around , and as your doing this make sure you let yourself drop into the ramp or like i said ,
hello coping :% . You don't need too really throw yourelf into it just make sure the shoulders are turned
and it should come round pretty easy
Personally i would try it on a transition rather than a bank as the curve of the transition helps the board
come round quicker with less effort . A good way to try and get the feeling is to bend down as your turning
and put your hands on the coping this way you can control the revert without falling .

There you go i've given you all the secrets ,, so good luck guys .. :) :) :) :)

Hmm should i   frontsides are probs easier to learn coz you can see where your going
but the backside for me is easier to do and takes less effort to pull around ,, think i might consider it ,
maybe see what other people say , maybe post a video of a front with a few clips of you trying the backside 8) 8)

Blimey, that steps it up a gear.

Am thinking, 'soft wheels, concrete bowl, about to go on holiday for two weeks which involves driving to Italy, maybe not the best time to try and learn this, so may have to bow out.'

Looks a cool trick though and I can imagine at least half of it is just manning up to try it properly.

Highly unlikely I'll be posting in this, but will give it a crack when back home.

I'm loving that this has been posted even though when filming it I knew it probably means a letter for me too but it's all about progression and having a go so maybe those who can't make the revert may at least learn tailstalls.
I on the other hand have just learnt the revert manouvre sketchily but can't yet get the balls in place for adding a good tailstall to it

Well up for this :D

Had a few goes today, no video.. found trying a BS 180 revert on the flat helped to get the mind in the right gear. Had a couple of tries on the only small tranny we could find but it was a bit whippy, and a bit grippy. Not too good.

Still.. get me to my local and we'll see. 8)

This is a good one! It's a real "free-fall" trick: one of those moves that is 100% body language and the transition catches you on the way in. Can't wait to have a go - maybe in the morning!

Am loving the enthusiasm for this trick :D :D
Gotta say tho if you have access to a wooden or metal ramp your life will be much easier , concrete tends to grip a little and takes
alot more effort ..

Roll along on the flat at a medium pace then do a backside 180 slide. Turn your shoulders prior to committing and attempt to 'look over your shoulder' to spot where you need to finish to roll off fakie in a straight line from where you started. 8)

And try to do it just on the back wheels like a real slack bs 180 ollie - if you pivot on the front wheels then it will be hell to take it to a transition (unless you're one of those bendy freak skaters who can make anything!)

ouch dude, hope it heals up soon :%

i will take one of those letters too. ironically enough it was the rock to fakie that i hung up on, trying to line up to the tail stall

was practising the revert holding onto the coping but couldnt swing it round straight enough. might take me a few sessions to learn them.

Mick made it, but took a hefty slam trying it out. balls of steel 8)

mick, nice job! from a standstill, too!

big kid, sorry about the stack - heal up soon.

shaftalot, what's the deadline on this again? (i'm in 5 different games of SKATE, and can't keep it sorted. how the hell did this happen?!)

*almost* got a couple at my friend's mini this morning. tiny, hard wheels on masonite FTW.

Hmmm, but usually a bit of leniency if its a newer trick.
I couldn't find the commit tonight and probably won't risk the fall before I've had my session at Hemel H this friday.
Sorry if that's wussy but I want to be match fit for friday :D

I am probably going to get my first letter on this. No intention of taking a slam. Plus I'm not really fit at the moment. Nasty abscess under one tooth and on antibiotics and some heavy duty painkillers that are making me a bit woozy. May or may not skate Prime tonight.. if I do I don't expect to do much outside my comfort zone. :?

Off to collate the results of the previous round...

MMmmm not sure like  Think a smith revert is a trick in its own right and one i'm now gonna get sorted ,, tried to learn it a few months back and its got a similar feel to back reverts , so on that note i reckon you should get em nailed or its gonna be a letter i reckon
