OT - Seen any good films recently?

Just watched Troll Hunter. Really enjoyable film.
Thought it might be a Blair witch/silly monster type of film to begin with but turned out to be really funny,
with the Norwegians more than happy to take the piss out of themselves.

Well worth a night in on the couch.

Anyone else seen anything worth mentioning?

Watched Real Steel last night, worth watching

The new Sherlock film. 2 hours long and it felt like it.

"Everything Must Go". It's a new Will Ferrell film that slipped under the radar.

Recently watched 'Scott Pilgrim Vs The World' which we enjoyed a lot. Not sure how old it is or anything, quite strange, good fun.

Just got a copy of 'Troll Hunter' but it will have to wait for a few days as I'm off to Australia in a couple of hours.

La Fille du Puisatier - unmistakeable Pagnol but nowhere near as dark as Jean de Florette or Manon de Source.

Machete. Cracking film. Great cast...Steven Seagal, robert De Niro, CHEECH etc. etc. Nudey ladies, guns, hot rods, motorbike chases. What more could a man need?

i know its not that recent, but watched the departed. very good and i didnt see the ending coming

Monsters - One of the best films that I've seen in a long time. And what's really amazing about it, is that it's an indie film which was made on a tiny budget by a crew of two, the director doing the camera work, and another guy doing the sound, along with two actors playing the central characters. The director then added all the digital effects later on his home computer. The result is a film that puts most Hollywood offerings to shame.

The journey that the characters take in the film, was actually taken by the guys making the film. They just stopped when they found suitable locations, and then roped in the locals and used them as supporting actors. The result is a film with the kind of integrity that you just won't find in mainstream movies.

It's a love story wrapped up in a road movie, which is then bundled up inside of a monster movie, with an environmentalist subtext. If that doesn't sound like your kind of thing, don't be put off, because this film will confound your expectations. I really can't recommend this one highly enough.

Damn, I want to watch it again now!

Watched The Adjustment Bureau. Not too shabby. Watch the whole of Game of Thrones over 3 days the other week, if you're into that kind of thing it's very good.
