Optimized for what? Google ranking?
If so, from what I have read meta tags etc are a waste of time now as the engines don't even bother with them
Similar thing with placing 'key words' in your content.... Google are wise to this sort of thing now and actually penalise sites for taking the piss as it were
It seems to be all about off page content now... In other words buggering around with your pages has limited effect. What you need are links from other sites to yours.... Google sees this as 'this is an interesting site coz lots of others link to it so Ill move it up the ranking'... Needs to be one way though. The days of reciprocal links are gone.
I.E a link to you is +1 ... if you link back to the same site its a -1 .... net zero
It struck me that search engine ranking is a full time job. Sure you can get up there (and you NEED to be in the first few items on page 1) but to stay there means regular work/payment.
I spent a day looking at this stuff... don't have the figures but it summat like only 20% of your ranking actually comes from your site.... the rest is from external links
Struck me that 'ranking' is the new 'we can do you a website' wild-west with people making $$$
Forums with dodgy black hat rankers with their underhand techniques - the lot
Interesting stuff to look into if you have the time
As for your content stuff -- I stumbled on software that would sprinkle your pages with keywords and give various metrics on the pages.... Thats probably what you need .... BUT it struck me as a bit of a waste of time tbh....... sorry
I reject your reality and substitute my own
Youth about me - "That guy looks like Bob Burnquist"
Carl - "Yeah but He skates like Bob Burntcrisp"
