Mount Hawke July

Postby Fen » Thu Jun 21, 2018 8:38 am

I am holidaying in Perranporth in the first week of July. Are there any specific evenings or days to hit Mount Hawke when any MAS people are there? Looking forward to skate the old Blackpool bowl again.
Also, is Newlyn East worth a visit as it seems to be nearby.

misterbleepy will know better than me as he's been around a lot longer but most evenings there seem to be fairly chilled out.

generally i try to get down on a tuesday and/or thursday though.

not been to newlyn yet, watched a few edits, it looks ok, but reckon with more than a couple of people it'll start to feel busy :?

if you want street Truro is the place to go for sure. For bowls...I've not skated the bowls at tuckingmill yet but they do look fun!

Cheers Pete. I will pop down one of the evenings.
I will check that Tuckingmill one. Pity the new concrete waves isn't ready.

Tuesday evening, Thursday evening, and Sunday late afternoon to evening are my preferred Mount Hawke visits, and there are normally a few other ‘mature’ skaters there at those times.
Been a while since I skated Newlyn, it is quite small so can get busy.
I am told that Tuckingmill bowls are a little rough, so bring some softer wheels if you plan on checking them out.
The newish Maverick park at Porthleven is also well rated, but I am yet to try that.
Keep us posted when you plan on skating, would be cool to have a roll around.

Fun was had, thanks.
We will surely bump into each other soon - most likely not in the sea, as I like my waves wooden or concrete, not wet ;-)

fen, if you follow google maps to the skatepark it will take you to the wrong place, but, there's a sign on the false entrance telling you to go 500m (or something like that) further down the road to the correct place...dont miss the sign lol 8)
