Deck size of the MAS'ers left here

Postby GoR64 » Thu Dec 05, 2019 9:23 pm

We haven't done this for a while and as this place isn't as popular as it was due to people being too old to skate be interesting to check out the size of the dudes left here, me.. sprightly 8.38".
Don't call it a comeback...

On a 9" right now and will be probably for the next year since I bought 8 of a deck that was discontinued. Anyhow, not very picky I'll ride anything from 8.3"-10" or over. As long as it's a shaped deck. Can't stand riding popsicles anymore.

When I eventually manage to drag my self sloth-like out to skate, it’s a 8.5”

9 inch, but I am feeling like it's actually a bit big and thinking of an 8.5 for piddling about on the street

Not been here for a while. 8.25" is my go to, 9" for big stuff and a fat 10.75" Zip Zogger because I think it looks cool and I needed 215's in my life.

I seem to have settled on 8 as my go-to deck.
I have bigger, and smaller, but they're not getting used.
Doesn´t like decks with dolphins or Bob Marley painted on.

I've gone back down to my old 8.125" for now, the 8.25 pool shape was just too heavy for tech ish, and I'll be looking to go back down to 8" once funds allow. Having the missus' 7.75" has ruined me...

Death 9 inch pop

As a big lump over 6 foot and size 11 feet this width feels more comfortable

right now, an 8.5 Lovenskate. In the next few weeks (it feels like the Lovenskate is dying and will snap soon), I'll be on an 8.375 Almost Impact Light. It seems way thinner than the 8.5!

If I can go back and forth from a 10" all the way to a 8.3" without issues I'm sure you'll be able to with no problem. Just don't think about it.

Thanks Plan9, i will be fine. I switch around a bit anyway (8.25 - 8.8, and in between, as well as the odd go on an old 7.5 I have).
What i meant to explain is the difference in measurements. generally, i think of 8.375 as an 8.5 mislabelled, but this Almost one seems more like an 8. There should, in theory, be only 1/16 of an inch difference on each side compared to my 8.5 (1/8 total), but it doesn't feel that way. It seems (without skating it yet) a lot thinner. I guess woodshops measure and shape slightly differently (pennswood v dwindle).
