It's not Roundhay (yet). All sorts of politics and procedures, as usual, so can't say much for now, but once I've got a date for the consultation event I'll make sure it's up on here. Need to ensure that there is a balanced input, including the more mature skater...

When I spoke to Foxy a couple of weeks ago he said he'd made repairs to some of the surface panels so yes, I'd say it's still skateable. Although there are plans to replace the whole thing eventually but who knows how long that might be.

Think it's looking like there will be a consultation event on the 30th June, somewhere in Horsforth, probably starting around six.

Now I realise that in an ideal world, this sort of thing would happen at an early stage - but there will be a proposed design presented on night and the chance to comment on the design. Useful feedback will be listened to and taken on board. There will also be an opportunity for all parties to state preferences for some options and prioritise features. This is why it is really important to get you guys along, rather than just scooter kids...

There will also be an explanation of the next stages of the process and likely timescales.
I don't think I'll be able to get drawings in advance of the meeting, but I'll post up more info on exact times and venues as soon as its all confirmed.

Yeah, there have been plans to redo Horsforth Hall Park for a while. The old metal ramps will go and have new proper concrete park, in the middle of the park, where it should be and users aren't given a leftover corner...

An opportunity to apply some reverse logic. Make sure you ask for a plenty of stuff for scooters, bmxers and booters along with dollops of asymmetry, shit transitions and a rough arsed finish. Might end up something that might be skateable.

Oh and don't forget to use words like, stakeholders, going forward, sustainable, robust, and grown up discussion, etc etc. DON'T use words like gnarly, geek, foot plant, cess slide, backside disaster, cunt and Daffy Duck. You'll be chucked out of the room.

Any update on the Horsforth skatepark project as it seems to have fallen very quiet since that public meeting we attended a while back in June 2016, unfortunately my account disappeared for a while, when restored all my mails & contacts were gone ?

Just got a message from a skate mate in Horsforth, they've got a newsletter through the door saying the park has been green lit & approved to start now with a bowl

With the Works closing down, some sort of weird argument going on with opposing forces & vested interests about trying to reopen it, this project seems dead in the water, looks like West York's dubious honour of never having a good/great outdoor (& probably indoor) park will continue. Leeds being the third largest city makes this an even bigger disgrace, as two bit towns all over the country seem to be able to achieve better than this, all we get at best is waste of money ill thought out & badly built little kiddie play scoot parks mainly in craphole area's rendering them pretty unusable anyway!


Oh well, back on the congested motorways then again burning money & time.
