Looking for a skater, or two, or three, or crew in Calgary,

Hey. Looking for some MAS skaters to skate with in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I suck at skating, but I love it.

Looking for a crew to have fun, be positive, share stoke, and generally encourage each other in this hobby/distraction.

I also get out to the Kootneys quite a bit, so if you're in Golden, Revy, or Vernon areas, it would be sweet to skate.

You might have more luck contacting a local organization and asking their advice/getting them to post a request online for you. There's (obviously) not that many locals for you here.

undertime thanks for the link. CASE is a few guys based out of a skate shop here that promote skating, park development, and competitions for young kids. It's a really good organization for getting spots made, and getting messages to the city council about the needs of skaters and how we should create more opportunities for young people. It doesn't seem like they do much as far as organization or promotion for the over 40 crowd.

I've contacted the skate park closest to my place several times over the years to see if they would do an adult's only or old timers (over 35 or 40) evening skate, once every week or two. They refuse. They have tonnes of programs and organized skate time for the kids, but won't engage at all with adults. In fact, if you go skate there as an adult during open skate, most of the staff give you the stink eye and look and point.

Now I'm in Calgary, and the place I get out to the most in BC is Golden.
