Ive been on this site a lot of years and in the last 6 months MAS seems to have finally run its course and died a death.Shame really as it was brilliant years ago but TBA the owner Woody has shown little interest in the site for years and it shows.
I raise a glass to MASers long moved on,passed away (rip Greywolf & Goofyfootgray) and people still hanging on here

Time to find another skate site and move on,

Only problem is none of the others are particularly good, many are really dire & full of idiots or admin power trippers unfortunately, this place had a demographic that alternatives fail to have no matter what their title is, the MAS Facebook page is full of much younger skaters with some of the associated bollocks

I can see why quite a few older active skaters are just going back to local communication with like minded skaters as many of the social media sites are full of collecting non skating know it all gobshites (quite often getting it wrong anyway) ! :lol:

Why leave. Surely you can still look in now and then?
FB killed it tho. It is more instant. You don't have many forum use anymore. MAS was made for desktop computer use back in the day.

Forums have been dying for a few years now. The MAS forum is no different to many that have seen a huge downwards trend in posts.

Facebooks has a lot to answer for and it’s where people interact nowadays. It’s not great, you can’t find threads easily and there are more idiots, you just have to ignore them. Forums are better but you have to go with the flow or stay in the dead zone, your choice.

I’m not dead, still able to skate and I’m not going anywhere.

MAS was instrumental to me getting back on the board. Which, so far, has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I owe it (and many of you) a lot and have no intention of deserting it for good.

That said, it has gone very quiet and I'm feeling increasingly self conscious about posting stuff (as most of it relates to my tried, trusted and rather tired bag of no comply and heelflip crap).

I wish more people would post, but understand completely that the site is losing ground compared to the more 'immediate' platforms. I post way more on Instagram than I do here for example.

Anyway, the party isn't over, but there's not many of us left hanging about in the I'm a spammy wanker talking crap. More's the pity.

I think we did cross paths at one of Blackpool sessions a couple of years or so ago.

I'm currently out of the country but will be aiming to get some sessions in when I'm back next month.

The site has a automated service to stop spammers, you must have used a trigger word to have made this happen, nothing personal just the site looking after itself after a huge spate of "Kit Chen" spammers invading the site

I'm certainly staying - This place & the good folk on here have kept the stoke going for me.

When I got back on the board "officially" in Feb 2017 this place was / is a fantastic source of information.

I'm still here too, but haven't used the site for a few years. Just checked back in today on a whim to see if it was still going!

Same story as others - this site was a huge help to me in the early days when I was gaining initial confidence on the board and looking for people to connect with, but now I have a couple of different groups of skaters that I skate with regularly (well, as often as possible!), and it's far easier to arrange sessions with them on facebook than expect them to get on here. Despite my general dislike of facebook as a whole, it's very good at doing that. Plus the drift away from forums in general as everything goes mobile.

Anyway, even if there's little activity on here these days, I'm glad to see it's being preserved as a small part of internet and skating history!

Shit on the telly is shittier than ever. I cant be bothered anymore with all the free boring business events with free shit food and its cold and dewy outside for a few more months. Even the internet is getting shittier.

I've been lurking more than posting for the last long while, and I'm fine with it being about other skaters. Living vicariously and all that...

The few who do post here provide me with inspiration and motivation, ... even if I'm not posting it's great to see others skating to get me up off the couch.

As I've said on another post FB is getting pretty toxic these days.
People may return to a safe place to obsess over bearings again!

Only takes 5-10 people to post fairly frequently to get it moving again.

I will start to post again and see if others do too.

Yes. FB is littered with drama queens. but it has happened here as well in the past, but not quite to the FB scale ! People don't seem to want use forums much any more as I think many like a wider audience for their vanity :lol:

I do like how you can find stuff on a forum whilst FB stuff just gets lost as more posts appear. so who know's if this place can be revitalised again.

Here in Warrington the locked down town has become our skatepark. A few of us are out skating the streets more than ever now. Just cruising and finding new terrain. Ollying up kerbs and skating crusty flat banks. Loving it.
But I replaced my 99a Spitfires with some softer (but not too soft) mini logo wheels to deal with the rougher terrain. Only 20 quid so don't know if they will last long but they have been perfect in the short term.

I'd toss my useless opinion in that thread even though the last time I skated Bones the rat bones were new. I skate street almost everyday though just not cool street. No huge gaps, rails, stairs, or super tech ledge/flat stuff.

I think some have actually returned to the streets /car parks to skate waxed curbs!

I have a few mates who would never normally skate street but have been out there board sliding curbs. Great fun with low risk
