ok.. so having had the "what've you got" and the "how bigs yours" posts.. i thought since I just got back from the skateshop having ordered my own new board.. what is everyone else planning on buying and riding (or collecting if thats easier) next? and why.. if you're that way inclined.

having stepped up last time round from a 7.5 to a 7.75x32 i'm jumping the width up again by a little bit to a 7.8... and taking a little off the length too.

It may NOT surprise you to hear that it will be another Bulldog Skates Deck - this time the 1st issue Z13.............its a mild concave ironing board of 11"x33"............should help with the creases :lol:

I have two on order, one of which should be in today. Its a local company named struck (from Tennessee where I live). This guy is pressing his own decks. It is 8 inches wide with a 16.5 inch wheelbase...new school shaped.

Also on order...bulldog quad 12 with bds team dubcons. Ordered this one a week and a half ago but haven't gotten it yet.

While I've got a couple more 8.25 pops waiting I'm fancying going a bit narrower AGAIN. :roll:

I picked up some cheap (and superlight) GKs that are about 7.85 wide. I also got the slightly smaller version of the bullets I'm currently riding (56mm) So the question is how wide/narrow? I'm going to mount the wheels up on the trucks and measure it (yeah, I know, geek) I reckon a 7.875 or summat, maybe 8 should be about right. :wink:

Blank, no doubt unless a bargain jumps out at me.

Those 8.25 and 8.5" blanks we all have, still have a decent wheelbase, but much narrower is surely gonna mean a jump down in WB, I'd have thought?

WB in mill's is easy- 300mm is 12", then add a bit more, like 70mm is nurlee 3 inch........innit ddd

They look like that 'cause they is! They've been throwing a bunch of fund-raising parties lately, to get the cash together to build a local ramp. Hasn't gone down too well with a few of the nearby residents, but it looks like we'll have something in Crystal Palace park soon. Quality.

I think any larger than 7.8 will be too much for me.. i tried someones and know for sure that 8" is.. someone who was planning on going for a 8" may be going for a 7.9 if they like my 7.8..

If you want a 8" blank 'southstar' do them.. their next size down is a 7.75 though

I set this up yesterday. Ive ridden the deck before, but I got new bits for it. I am now officially leaving the Trackers are great / Indy's are utter shite debate

, as from today, I will be mostly riding these strange lookin, lightweight Gullwing Sidewinder jobs.

By the way, the deck is 10" wide.....sue me :twisted:

i was thinking about it but on tricks like disasters you get a duh sound instead of a slap/crack.

they do have an "old school" catalogue.. your proper local skateshop should be able to show u what kind of products are on there/answer those questions. i only ended up in that warehouse as we were collecting a special order of some green kryptonics slammer wheels for a guy i work with.. i dont know how much of the goodies i saw was for sale.. I know they're going to build a skate museum and a skatepark there at some time.... but there are a couple other businesses that need to be relocated/closed down first as they operate a petrol station and a builders yard on the same site. dunno if they have interests in more businesses too.. wouldnt be surprised..

So you will have to visualize the deck.
