More than twenty!

Got one of those Sigma 10-20 lenses off ebay for £160, mint condition.
Very cool for pics at work and should be great for skate pics and band shoots.

i have a 24mm prime, which i love but looking at a 20mm prime to get the WIDE look

the 17mm i have distorts the verticals too much, but then its not a prime .....

but i cant see much distortion on yours pic

I had a 28mm prime which I liked but had quite a bit of chromatic aberration so I sold it to pay for the 17-35 L-series, which often takes great pics but the focusing is a bit faulty - that what happens when you buy a £1200 lens for £269.

I thought you had one of the Sigma 10-20 EX series? Or am I thinking of the fisheye?
Obviously the vertical angles go squiffy but I don't see any curves on them.

There are a few here, including an f3.5 version, mine is f4

i had a Sigma 10-20mm a few years ago... not too much distortion as long as you dont start panning up and down with it. good low light performance too.

Basically im a lazy twat when it comes to photography and lots of the time i just use auto settings but with the sigma lens i found best result were achieved from manual ... takes a bit of experimenting but worth the effort if you have the time ...

Took this with a £149 wide angle adaptor screwed onto the end of a pocket camera.

a massive improvement than hand held

yeap, hence why i got it.... its a china made thing, so maybe it will fall part in a few month, but who knows

its not going to be something i use all on shoots, its just something ill use as an effect rather than my whole style of filming

like i said once ive shoot the flight ill post up what i have done so you can all see if it was worth the cost :)

The hand held one I made takes some technique.. as you know, but I use it on every band shoot now. More rolling movement than shaky.

ha ha ..... just want to keep trying different stuff

the fact they are plastic means they have inherent errors .... and so "embrace the shitness"

so rather than trying to re create the style of "diana f" ... you can film with it and use a few shots into a "pop punk video" as the quirky shots

ill post what i do with it, good or bad

so the magic lantern 4k hack for the canon 5d is a bit pants ... i got a super fast CF card... over £200 .. and the hack is so unstable ... ARSE!, you live and learn i guess

when people only post a 15 sec clip there is a reason ... it just crashes

once i read people started loosing data post shoot, i said fuck it ....

so im on the hunt for a 4k camera

I'm only working as sound man. Chris is doing the edit - he did Floored but that was filmed in 1080p on his Lumix.
We have another day's shoot left to do, but Chris says he's a bit concerned about the 4k footage and how it will work out.
The guy whose camera it is just filmed it and isn't involved in the edit.

I'll let you know how he gets on!

so i pressed the buy button on the Sony A7s mkII and metabones lens adaptor

4k direct to camera and its c-log so no mucking about converting RAW to MOV ... and FCPx knows its S-log and converts automatically to a viewable look

ive worked with 4k and 5k footage and no issues at all.... so this should be an easy swap to sony

fingers crossed

I work as a media technician in a college and one of the main projects the students do is make a music video. However, they mostly tend to go for rap, R&B and pop style videos! This is A Level though. What sort of thing do they want at SSR?

Here's a quick one... literally 30 mins setup and shoot. We only went through the song twice as it was an afterthought after he'd recorded the vocal.
About 2 hours editing too... and the first time I've gone for static camera work... because I was also fading the lights and operating the smoke machine

Not bad at all for silly cheap, never heard of those pickups but looks a good job. I might be interested in a strat type if it can be done with a super fast neck and thin body...

ok i had to film / edit in 2 days as the guitar player was so very ill, he couldnt be in the video due to his cancer, so had to use old footage to include him

he died 2 days after it was finished, but thankfully he got to see it, i was meant to see him a day later.... but he didnt make it :(

That really sucks but it's good that he got to see it. It's a bloody excellent video. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into making it.

yeah, it was a struggle to keep focus and get everything done, the list of shots and animation was crazy

and a 6 min long song as well ..... there wasnt enough footage to use so i was time lapsing ink soaking into paper as as i was editing and adding in the footage to make the most of what i had ....

so glad Mark got to see it .....

thanks for the compliments ... i really appreciate it
